The translucent water tank is easy to fill and monitor and outputs about 1.2 gallons of moist air into the room--enough for 18 hours of continuous use on one filling. - Don't buy it
This was by far the worst I have used.

First of all, on the higher setting it is incredibly loud (I don't mind a little noise, but this was excessive). I ran it three nights in a row (on the high setting) and it still did not empty the tank. I even held my hand in front of the fan for a few minutes and there was no moisture on my hand. When I have gone to clean the machine, I have noticed that the cap can be very difficult to open. The tank is hard to clean because you can't get your hand in it. Once I even noticed that water had escaped the tray and was near where the electronic part of the machine was. I will be taking this back ASAP.

- Great Humidifer!
I have had this humidifier for 5 years now and it still works perfectly! I initially bought it to use for when first child got sick when he was an infant. then I discovered if I used it all winter long, it helped him not get sick as frequently. When I had my 2nd child, I bought my 1st child a quieter crane animal shaped humidifier that he loves. The vicks humidifier does make a lot of noise, but on the plus side, if you start using it when child is very young, they will get use to the noise and will be normal to them. I started using the vicks humidifier everyday with my 2nd child when she was 6 months old and it was great because she is a light sleeper and this machine helped drain out the noise in the rest of the house, especially during her afternoon nap. I am so thankful for it!

- Refilling Machine
The older model of this humidifier refilled so easy but this one is very hard. My husband even has a hard time opening it and now he just pushes the spring down where the water comes out because it is easier. If you have a hard time open things do not get this model. The machine itself does work fine.

My 2 years old daughter has nose bleed quite frequent while sleeping...i noticed often when the air is dried...This humidifier is a great addition to our room because ever since I got it...I keep it running every night and I've noticed the air is much more pleasant to breath...it's been a year and this thing definitely is the reason my daughter has not have a nose bleed since.

- Love the quiet operation, not the spills!
I had a hard time finding another quiet one like this for my son's room, so I came on here and ordered another one! It's true, you have to be careful about spilling the water out - but it just takes a little getting used to. Put it on a level surface with a towel underneath to be sure and put the water part on it only when it's in its ready position!
This is the only one that I can have in my room to help with my sinuses because the other, really loud ones don't let me sleep!
