Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Won't ever go back
With all the reviews I doubt that mine will ever be read. But here goes anyway. I'm a baby-boomer who has used a PC since the early 90s (remember DOS?). Well, being set in my ways and apparently happy with all the viruses, crashes, and just plain frustration of Microsoft, I hemmed and hawed about making a switch. WHAT TOOK ME SO LONG? I'm totally in love with my iMac. It's my baby. At first I tended to over-think things, knowing all the rigamarole of Windows. But the Mac is full of the "DUH!" factor.

One thing that can't be emphasized enough is Apple's outstanding customer support. I've had to use them twice. The first time was because Best Buy's Geek Squad who set my iMac up for me misspelled my name! Apple's tech patiently walked me through correcting the problem. Which is something else I want you to know. If you are in the least computer literate, you can set up your Mac quite simply. I wish I'd trusted myself in the first place.

The second time I used the Apple tech was with a glitch in my two games (also Apple) that occurred after I downloaded an update. He stayed with me trying to figure out the problem, which he did after a half hour. Being on the phone with tech support isn't my favorite pass time, but I actually had fun with this one. I could tell the tech enjoyed his job, and we laughed and groaned our way through fixing my problem.

So to sum it all up, I'll never go back to Windows without a fight to the finish.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - First Time Mac User
After my third Dell Hard Drive failure and losing half of my pictures due to a failed backup, I had to try something. My wife and I bought this in November and though she's not 100% converted, I still enjoy the novelty and ease of operation of working in the MAC world. I still try to right-click now and again, but I'm getting the hang of it. iphoto is nice and organized and utilizing mobile me is a good way to back up my photos and files-so far. I still plan to use a PC at home for some things like certain music downloads or gaming. However, the additional fun that MAC adds is a big bonus.

The other thing I like is the service you get at the apple store. They're very interested in getting you the right product for YOU. They TEACH you. They LISTEN to your needs. You'll find a level of service there you won't get at Best Buy, Circuit City, etc.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - By Far, The Best In Its Class
This is my 3rd iMac, which includes an original iMac(1999) & 15" flat panel (2003) & the older ones are still working.

I've had my 24" iMac for about a month & I can't think of anything negative about it. During the initial setup, I used Migration Assistant with my macbook; the iMac recognized my existing airport extreme network, airport express, printer, email, photos, music, etc., & everything just worked flawlessly without me having to do anything.

I've become accustom to the 24" screen, it seemed really huge at first. I have a wireless keyboard and almost like it as much as the computer; its very small and light weight, but has large keys and is very user friendly.

I maxed-out the memory and purchased AppeleCare. I regret not upgrading the hard drive from 350GB to 500GB, since it was only $50 more. I'll also have to buy iWork for the word processor.

On second thought, I have one compliant. The basic word processor has devolved from AppleWorks in my iMac (1999) to TextEdit, with 90% less features; a 2k computer should have a better basic word processor.

The 24" iMac is very close to being the perfect computer.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Best Computer Ever
I'm a recent switcher from XP for fear of Vista. This computer is blazing fast and amazing. I have the iWork Suite, which far beats Microsoft Office. Best home computer available: Apple iMac.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - This Amazing Machine
I bought this computer after I saw my friend get it. It is an amazing computer. If you think it is too expensive, you are wrong. When you think about it, it comes with every thing you need. Also, it is an all-in-one, so no need to buy a monitor AND computer. The price makes sense.
