- Great product
I love my new Garmin 760; it is fast, accurate, and has great graphics. The search feature is spot on & has plenty of categories to narrow down your choices. I first bought a Navigon, then sent it back- it was insanely slow. The only two downsides to this are:
1- It doesn't take verbal commands...all of these things will be able to do that in the next couple years, I just couldnt wait, nor pay $999 for the next model up.
2- If youre used to NeverLost from Hertz, this thing is going to annoy you since it doesn't 'ding' or 'chime' when youre suppose to take an action.

I didn't give 5 stars (actually would have preferred 3.5) because the BlueTooth doesn't work with my phone (Treo 680) although I got it to function, it makes my device lock up after the call and I have to take out the battery. Also the speaker isn't that great and callers told me I sound like I'm down in a well. I'd have been better off buying the 750 for about $200 less!!

The other features are fine and I like the traffic report function. MP3 sounds okay and the picture viewer works well too.

The Garmin 760 does an alright job, it seems to always travel the heavy traffic areas, the voice has a vibration to it and the screen has locked up on me several times while I was trying to navigate thru them for more information, forcing me to shut it off and restart it.

The GPS arrived sooner than promised. So far only two complaints and I have shared them with Garmin. The serial number, located on the bottom, is so small it is almost impossible to read even with a magnifying glass.

The unit came with the 2008 version of maps and during the registration process I was offered the current version (2009) at an additional cost of $69.95. I emailed Garmin asking why the unit was not shipped with current maps and why I was not eligible for a free upgrade. So far, no response, and sicnce it has been a month, I don't expect one.

Purchased because I travel. Really cool that I can punch in an address a state away from me while sitting in my driveway and then take off and end up exactly where I need to be without any hitches. Really strange driving without maps but there is no need to have them when your Nuvi is with you. Looking for something to eat or a place to stay the night while in a strange town? Just simply touch a few buttons on the screen and find what you need. I must say that the hands free phone (bluetooth) is somewhat staticky while talking but I highly recommend this product.
