- Way better than Windows One
I replaced Windows One on several computers with Panda and it's a pleasure compared to what I had from Microsoft. Easy to install and it's pretty innocuous except for some irritations. There is no way, that I can find, to schedule updates... it's either do it manually or it'll do it automatically when you're online. That automatic version is uncontrollable as to when it occurs and it will make anything you're doing... on or off the Web... slow to a crawl or just stop. The other peeve is that it does not allow your Internet cache to dump as you have it selected in your Internet Options. In fact, the cache never seems to dump unless I do it manually and if you forget it for a few days you're back to that crawl speed. Lastly, it prevents issues but you must set it to scan your disk because there's no way to have it set to do so on any regular basis. Compared to what I have had in the past this seems to be doing the trick or, at the least, I'm not aware that it isn't doing it.

This security suite is pretty much fool proof. I have been using it for three years. Put it in with your firewall off to avoid the adjusting problems. It is very tough on intrusions. Set it to prompt you for decisions. Well worth the money. Surf with no second thoughts and do what you wish with no threats or barriers. Tell everyone you have Panda and they will hack somewhere else.
It does use a lot of space but it will never fail you. I use the net as if there is no reason to worry about the criminal world. They can't get in.

- This does not work with Vista
I used this software on XP with no problem.

I have installed it on Vista with nothing but problems. Panda wants you to verify with them that your version is legit by sending them your user name and password. They are supposed to send that when you register. They did not, I had to ask for it after they made my software stop working without it.

I input that and the software is still telling me that it will lose functionality without a correct code. I contacted customer service. They give me instruction on finding special files on my computer somewhere and manually inserting my user name and password there. I am not a computer whiz.

I called customer service and waited forever while they played awful music. I have wasted hours on this and have had enough.

My computer is now unprotected. They should give you a 30 day window to get their stupid user name connected to their network before they cut you off. I paid for anti virus protection and I didn't get it.

I uninstalled and re-installed the software and that didn't work either.

Apparently, they are aware of the compatibility issue but have chosen not to fix it. They want me to.

Panda sent me the following e-mail. Confirming that their product is not compatible with Vista:

Dear Customer,

I do apologize for any inconvenience but, Windows Vista comes with some software that are not compatible with our software. Have you uninstalled or turned off any of the programs below:

Let's be clear about this. Yahoo anti-spy has been catching things that Panda did not. Windows defender also has caught some trojans that Panda did not. Why would I delete these programs and let Panda be the only protection I have????

- Panda User interface stinks
Panda 2007, updated frequently, and assuming that 2008 is not far off from this baseline, is rotten.

The pop-ups that it generates (hay! I got this thing to kill pop-ups, right?) do not agree with the standard panda program: one will flag a problem, the other will not give any indication that there is a problem, no less how to deal with it. The two parts of the program are not talking to each other in a meaningful way.

One of the slowdowns is the updating function, it tries to grab all the computing resources. It will do this without warning in the middle of important computations and games. This is likely the slowdown reported by several prior writers. So I turned off the installation, renamed the installer, and when I tried to undo these changes, including a reinstall of the software, it will not go back to updating. If you download an update zipfile installation, that zip file does not know where the default panda software is kept. Right now hitting the update button will get a request to reboot the machine, which will lead eventually into another futile request to reboot the machine. Really dumb software.

Panda does have a custom install, if you use it, the software will not work well, and will complain about the unusual installation.

I am running win 98. I was running this on my win Xp machine, but removed it as being too annoying.

Since I installed this Panda on my Laptop, the Performance of my computer has deteriorated. It takes for ever to startup. I might gift it to someone I dont like. The developers of this product did not do a good job.
