Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Garbage
Complete waste of money. Bought it impulsively. Won't be able to get a refund, so I will toss it in the garbage. No surround sound. Cannot use siaxxis (sp?) controller to steer. Can't figure out how to set up second player -- the box says it's for 2 players. The name of the first player doesn't show up on the racer's screen. There has to be a better racing game out there.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Buggy, unplayable
The game itself is not that bad. Problem is that EA is delivering a beta and claiming its a finished game.
First time I put the disc on my ps3, I had to download a 730 MB update. Yes, that's right: 730mb. Even after the update, the game is still too buggy, I never saw anything like this on a videogame and i've been playing since the NES days.
During the race, sometimes the game stutters, and its easy to lose control if you're in a tight turn.
But what made me lose faith on this game is the fact that it hangs during situations, sometimes when you finish a race, it hangs. Now I can customize my cars! It hangs at the end. I pursched a BMW M3, customized it for 3 hours and bham, game hung, and I had to restart the game and lost all my customizations.
Its so frustrating, I gave up playing. It's not worth it.
The game itself is not that bad, it's not excellent, but the customizations, the aftermarket parts make the game interesting. Honestly, I dont miss the free roam, Burnout Paradise, which is focused on free roam, is so much better than need for speed for that...
The menus are totally confusing, the announcer is so in love with you, he says your name like 82 times per race. He's also pretty annoying after a few minutes. The graphics are playstation 2 style, not even close to the power of ps3. For example, the dust from other cars in front of you has absolutely no shade, no distance and no transparency. It's like seeying a 16bit graphic.
In a nutshell, this is one of the most frustrating games ever. I couldnt be more disapointed.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Well......there are better ones out there
Love EA and they Sports games and most other games as well ....but seriously they must have been high to throw this one in the mix....definately not what I expected having played several NFS games before.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - FINALLY
Yes I agree this game has evolved..Great.

I liked it gives you a sense of what a car can handle more realistic lets take the Evo for example you line a 350Z up agianst it and the Evo ripps it off the start like it should Unlike the past Need for speeds were all wheel drives and two wheel drives are equal this game gives it a reality taste..

And I also agree that I will miss the police chases but hey kids will believe anything they play. Tisk tisk tisk garenteed when NFSMW landed kids were trying to race there parents cars rolling them and what not trying to get into trouble HA..

I like the fact you have to pay for your mistakes Take a turn too quick and blam your paying for it.. I also like that you can Total a car Seperates real Game Racers from the lead foot rail riders. And the fact that you cant gain NOS back makes you distribute it Evenly..

One thing I didnt like about it WHERE IS THE AMERICAN MUSCLE what about the Pontiac Firebird and Im talking about the WS6.. In know there was a Camero there same engine But HA why its the Idea of having A firebird..OK I answered my Question..but still they could use just A lil more American Muscle..

Graphics are really good Used the PS3 to the full advantage I belive this game came out the right time. I Like three types of games for any station Boxing Adventure and Racing.. this diffently landed my top ten..

The Nerdy Critics who think its a weak story line SO WHAT who plays this game for the story line. Anybody who loves to fix cars and know just a little bit about cars Yes this is a game for you..

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Not my thing
Owning NFS Underground & Carbon and enjoying both of them immensely, I was terribly excited when my husband mentioned that not only had he purchased a copy of Pro Street for our PS3, he'd screwed up and bought the PC version first (score! no more fighting over the controller). The PS3 version arrived today.

The game doesn't draw me in at all. I think it's too structured, too rigid, too boring. The damage thing's a joke (I got light damage from rear ending someone at 30mph BUT no damage slamming into things at 80mph?), the guiding lines are grating, the cars don't seem to handle any differently than they have in the past, and I really miss free roam.

I saw a reviewer say removal of free roam was good because it "sponsored and glamorized illegal street racing". Even if I agreed (I don't), I can't, for the life of me figure out how free roam does while in this person's mind, the other modes seemingly do not.

I won't go so far as to say that the game's bad, it's just not my thing.
