Electronics Apple iPod nano 4 GB Silver (3rd Generation)

Domain Name Com's - Electronics : Apple iPod nano 4 GB Silver (3rd Generation)

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - good sounds
I purchased the Apple iPOD NANO 4GB 3RD GENERATION ON 08/17/08
I AM SEVENTY YEARS OLD AND DON'T CARE FOR NEW GADGETS BUT THIS iPOD WAS EASY TO SET UP AND I HAVE DOWN LOADED SONGS FROM MY CD'S AND PURCHASED SONGS ON LINE AND DOWN LOADED THEM. I REALLY ENJOY THE iPOD. THE SOUND IS VERY GOOD AND IT IS EASY TO CARRY AROUND.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Wh could complain? This is the best ipod by far.
i really don't understand all the negative 1 star reviews? This is the best and most lightwieght music player to date. it is perfect for working out or travel and these people writing 1 star reviews have issues. I recommend it to anyone who works out or wants a way to always have their music with them in a portable format - and at 8GB it stores a lot - same as the good iphone.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Won't play all your audio files!
Unlike other MP3 players out there, this ipod (and all others) won't play protected WMA media, which is a lot of media out there.

If you want to play ALL your music or audiobooks, get a Zen or other non-Apple media player. They may not be as stylish and trendy, but they work better and they will cost you less cash.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - My current favorite of all the iPods!
Of course, everyone knows that whenever you buy an iPod, soon after the geniuses at Apple will unleash another one which is better than yours. Even after seeing the 4th-gen nanos, I still think that this is the best iPod that Apple has made so far. It is basically all of the good things from every other one so far packed into the 3rd-gen nano, which is this one. It is very easy to use, for those of you who aren't familiar with iPods. It is very simple, and to the point. The lists of songs, artists, albums, genres, etc. are very organized and in a clear, easy-to-read font. The click wheel, I noticed, is a bit less sensitive than the 1st and 2nd-gen nanos. Unlike the first nanos, this one has the capacity for many types of video such as tv shows, movies and more. And the 8 GB (up to 2,000 songs) is just enough for me. I absolutely love the color blue also. The overall design of it is very appealing, and similar to the iPod classic. The battery life lasts a lot longer, usually about 24 hours when you first get it. One thing that I really like is the search, where you can search for anything on your iPod, like songs or albums. There are also several built-in games, or you could buy more on iTunes. I have had this iPod for almost a year and I am very happy with it. It is very durable, and it was able to hold up for several months until I got a good case for it. I would say to get this iPod if you want a reasonable price, a good amount of media on it, and all the basic features.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Good for music, useless for podcasts
I bought this Nano to primarily listen to podcasts. When you listen to podcasts you usually, but not always, want to delete them after listening to them either in full or part way through if the podcast is not worth listening to.

The problem is that their isn't a way to delete the podcast tracks until you connect the Nano to a PC. It's an unbelievably bad omission. Here are the problems -

If you listen to the entire track, it will replace it with a later podcast in the series. But if you only listen to a piece of it, for some reason it doesn't.

And, even worse, if you haven't listened to it when the next podcast in the series comes out, it will still delete it without you having heard a word!

And here's the worst point... let's say that if you have 20 podcasts on the Nano, the listened to podcast is still available for listening, so if you jump around from track to track, you'll keep stumbling over the same podcast until you connect it to a PC.

Apple should have built in a single button delete, so if you hold a button down for a while while a track is playing it will DELETE it and start playing the next.

What was Apple thinking when they designed it? No much.
