I bought the three computer version of CA Internet Security Suite 2007, which, as it turned out was exactly three computers too much. I downloaded the Vista version. (Although the box says 2007, the program doesn't know about Vista.) I spent most of a day trying to get the program to let me access the Internet -- adjusting every variable in sight, rebooting, etc. -- and finally gave up. I then tried to uninstall it. Vista said it couldn't uninstall it! Although I've manually deleted most of the files now, there's still stuff in the registry. Enough said?

What a great product! I was skeptical at first of this company I'd never heard of selling a complete Internet Security suite including anti-spam and firewall for $15 (the promo at the time), but figured for that price, I could afford to trash it if it wasn't any good. How that gamble has paid off! CA's Internet Security Suite works seamlessly, discreetly, and error-free, even on my old, slow desktop. The firewall is fantastic- in two months of use, my computer has remained 100% virus-free, whereas my dad's Norton 2007- protected desktop is riddled with low-grade viruses and spyware. The Antivirus scan takes very little system resources to operate, and works smoothly in the background even on this dinosaur. My favorite feature is the Anti-Spam, which is by far the simplest, most user-friendly and most RELIABLE I have ever used. And you get it all for, what? $30 or so? My only gripe is that it doesn't have any system maintenance tools like Cleansweep or disk defragmenting, but since Windows comes with ScanDisk anyway, I frankly don't miss it a bit, AND you're not paying for all that extra junk, either. All in all, CA has an outstanding product in 2007's Internet Security Suite, and at least one very happy customer. My 15 year marriage to Norton is over.

If you're looking for an alternative to Norton and McAfee, DON'T try CA Internet Security. I wasted several hours over the weekend configering this product on a Dell laptop. Several hours of blue death screens and Windows XP issues (Windows would not close properly). I should have researched on-line before buying this awful software.

DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE!

I have used McAfee, Symantec/Norton, and Panda; CA is by far the best of the bunch, from four standpoints: (1) Their technical support is easily accessible, with a real person to speak with; the others, especially McAfee, are really frustrating and useless. (2) When you start up it is by far the quickest initial scan of the bunch. (3) It installs easily, even where other programs are embedded in your registry; it took me weeks to completely uninstall Norton in order to try another. (4) You can use it on three computers at no extra charge. I really can't understand the negative reviews.

This is the worst security suite I have ever used. It loaded poorly and each subsequent upgrade from CA makes the product work worse. Reconfiguration is quite difficult and the software appears to reset itself to the factory configuration every couple of days. CA also charges for live support on a product they must know is useless, buggy crap. Run away quickly.
