This product performs exactly the way it is described on Amazon. I was not having the greatest luck using the SB-600 flash at any angle. It always seemed that something was missing. I started reading photography blogs and found a couple of recommendations for this product. I am very impressed with the results so far. With the flash angled at 60 degrees the harsh shadows behind are minimized, but the features up front remain nicely lit.

IT works as advertised. I own a Nikon Speedlight Sb-600. Unit fits on snugly and is easy to remove and apply. When using indirect bounce with an adequate ceiling to bounce from the affect is very natural. Having it on for full flash relieves the harshness that direct flash gives. I find for bouncing I overexpose the flash setting from +.7 to +1.3 stops. For direct flash, I set the flash -1/3 to minus 1 stop. Thats having base exposure set for, or a little under, ambient, natural light conditions. With the TTL cord you can do some really nice effects by having the flash off to the side or using the on camera flash (in my case a D70s) as a commander for the 600.

Other units I looked at had reviews that it fiitted loosely. Not the case with this product Even if all you do is take snapshots at birthday parties, this will give your pictures a very natural look. I think you'll like it.

One tip I read also, rather than buying the gels to fit over your flash or buying other colored bounce accessories, buy a Rosco gel swatchbook. They are rather cheap, and will give you every gel available in a size right about the size of most flash heads. This will allow you to color correct the flash for natural conditions to avoid the blue cast you maybe getting or do some creative color efx. You can use clear tape to apply them on with. The swatchbooks are like the paint swatches or carpet swatches you see in home improvement stores, to help theatre, film, and TV lighting people pick the right gel color.

I've had pretty good luck using this diffuser for indoor candid shots. It's worth what I paid for it.

This is an absolute must if you are doing flash photography, unless you are in a studio with multiple light sources and controlled environment. Softens the light, evens out shadows. My only negative comment is, why was it not included with the flash unit to begin with?

The Sto-fen Omni-Bounce OM-600 Flash Diffuser fits snugly on my Nikon SB-600 speedlight. It softens the light so I can use the SB-600 more for people shots, fill lighting, and more natural colors overall. It's a simple durable material and will allow you to get the tones you desire in all your shots.
