- Excellent All-in-One Printer
I am happy with my purchase, and definitely recommend this printer. Good quality prints. The software that comes with the printer may seem a little bit confusing at first because there are so many programs to use for photos, so it takes a little bit of time to get used to it. I was looking for a printer that used separate color ink cartridges, and I like that they all have the same number so I don't have to waste time trying to remember which number is which color.

- Great pictures, but not worth the hassle!!
We got this printer for work and at first it was perfect. The quality of the pictures that it printed were wonderful, but that's where the positive review stops. As soon as the warranty expired, the printer bagan making funny noises and an error message reading "Ink System Failure" showed up on the screen. We called HP, but without a warranty they refused to talk about the problem. They happily would talk about it if we paid a fee of $35. What a rip off!! We had one of our tech guys come up and he said that one of the teeth on the wheel that feeds the paper into the printer was broken. It is impossible to fix, so our one-year-old printer is now useless.

This photoprinter is the finickiest printer we've had. It is slow to warm up and very noisy. The fast draft option practically spits the paper out at you! It is just an overall quirky printer and doesn't always behave the way we want it to! If we want to print on regular 8x11 paper, it may or may not want to print. Wish we could return this one for a different printer.

- Big Disappointment
Like I normally do, I read all the reviews on this product before buying it. It sounded like it was pretty much exactly what I was looking for in a desktop machine: good photo printer first, OK scanner/printer second. At first, I thought it was OK too. On the best quality paper (I used both the high gloss and matte), the prints seem to be pretty good. But the Mac software issue is EXTREMELY frustrating. Why won't it just save all my settings correctly so I can just click to print versus having to verify certain things just to print a 4x6 from iPhoto? No excuse for that.

Also, if you buy one of the ink/paper bundles with the lesser grade paper, it's basically worthless garbage. The paper is too thin and the prints never seem to dry. I can forget trying to send them to any one in a card. Even after drying over night, if I tuck a couple in an envelope, the still stick together in spots. Same with a frame-get all sorts of sticky spots on the glass. The standard paper should at least work, I would just expect the advanced paper to be heavier and have better overall image quality. However, as it turns out, if you actually want DRY images, you can't seem to use the standard. My wife has given up on this and uses my in-laws Epson Snap photo printer. Side-by-side, image quality is about the same. But the paper that comes in the standard bundle with ink is considerably better-thicker, better feel, and the ink drys considerably faster (and completely too). Add to that, it's easier to use too.

The pictures may look pretty good and it's a fair scanner and printer, but for an overall machine, especially a photo printer, because of the paper and Mac software problems, I regret buying this.
