Please note that this is the spanish standard version; just spanish. Although I had resisted the temptation to try out an application such as this because of comments received regarding the lack of accuracy in speech recognition programs, after reading the highlights and accuracy hype of Dragon's NaturallySpeaking, I finally decided to try it out. To my surprise, so far I have found it to be true. It is very accurate recognizing with an effective learning process. Even though I have been using it for less than a month, I am well satisfied. So far the use I have put it to use is preparing legal documents and my wife's college term papers. The only thing that perhaps has caused me some trouble is the commands use to "move around" the documents; they work, but you have to be careful pronouncing them because if not, the program just writes down what you have said, instead of moving down a line or going to the end of the document as you wanted, for example. Other than that, and that the Help system although reasonably comprehensive, should be augmented, it is a very good product and I recommended it. But remember, just spanish.

- 99% accurate? Do not believe the hype!
This product is definitely better than Dragon 7, which I had but was unable to use due to its wild inconsistency, but 99% accurate? There is no way! This morning, I was dictating. I only did a little over 1 page, and I had several errors. I can live with that, but one error frustrated me beyond reason. I dictated the word "wing," and Dragon misinterpreted it as "weighing." I was patient. I trained the program, then said "wing" again, and Dragon misinterpreted it as "weighing." I trained it again. I trained it eight more times, and Dragon was never able to get it right. Finally, I just deleted "weighing" from my user vocabulary. I figured this was the only way to get past this problem. Then I dictated "wing" again, and Dragon misinterpreted it as "waiting." I felt like I was trapped in an Abbot and Costello routine. I trained the program again and again and again, and finally I think Dragon can correctly process "wing" about 75% of the time now. It is just not an option to keep deleting vocabulary words until "wing" is the only word left!
I am not suggesting that people interested in this product should not buy it. It saves me some time, but only a fool would trust its accuracy without proof-reading, and this means that using the program does not save nearly as much time as the manufacturers claim. It will save some fatigue from typing. This technology is not there yet!

I discovered dragon 9.0 a few months ago. I bought it at Staples for $90. I have been using it to dictate onto the flash card exchange website (creating flashcards for study.)

This is my first experience with dictation software. I am completely amazed. After a 20 minute training session I was speaking the words right out onto the document with ease. They just appeared like magic.

There are a few minor bugs. First, I would recommend dictating directly onto the DragonPad. I find that opening the toolbar and talking onto e-mail or Microsoft Word document is a bit sticky. This could be due to the performance constraints of my computer, as I have a celeron with about 1.2g RAM.

Secondly, expect that you will have one hand at the ready to correct as you go along. You have to watch what it is giving to you. The Dragon is not perfect. In fact, realistically, I would say it is about 90% accurate. Still light years ahead of typing...

All in all, I think this product is revolutionary. It is well worth the price. If you conscientiously maximize your use of the training tools, accuracy will improve to optimum.

I purchased Dragon Naturally Speaking for my wife a few weeks ago, and so far, she is thrilled with it! It is very user friendly, in walking you through setup and voice training.

This is an astounding bit of software. Even with minimal training it has astonishing capabilities. A great help, but be sure to review what you 'said' immediately, as sometimes Dragon produces some weird garbles that you may have trouble reconstructing later.
