This is a very very disappointing effort by Intuit. Quicken for Mac couldn't even import my Windows Quicken QIF files without them being rife with errors. Additionally, the microscopic interface and patchwork quilt of windows makes the program practically unusable. For international users, and those with international accounts, there is NO (zero, nada, nulla) multi-currency support. This program is a sad, half-effort by Intuit and should be pulled from the shelves.

As a new Mac user I tried iBank (also a lackluster) but eventually settled on the work-around of migrating my Quicken Windows files to Quicken 2008 for Windows (a decent product) on Windows XP on my Mac using VM Fusion software (which runs Windows XP flawlessly on a Mac - VM Fusion was worth every penny). This has worked out spectacularly well.

Of note, the Intuit phone rep cheerfully refunded my money for the Mac product so nothing lost, nothing gained.

- GOOD ENOUGH
It is good enough for control of your personal finances. Unfortunately MAC users does not have many other options. It is not as good as the version for PC and it takes time to understand the program.

I'm still using Quicken 2005 which I upgraded from Quicken 2002 (or something like that). I'd heard good things about Windows Quicken. After reading the reviews of both the Mac and Windows versions and the hassles of converting, I looked elsewhere. MoneyDance was recommend by one of the reviewers. I checked it out, importing the QIF file from my Quicken 2005. Lots of duplicates, etc.--the types of problems described by reviewers. And I discovered in MoneyDance that changing the category list (merging, deleting, etc) and altering account information that had been imported incorrectly required manual editing of an XML (??) file (Thank you MoneyDance for useful user forums).
IBank (sold here on Amazon) looks really cool. I downloaded the demo, imported my Quicken QIF, and it looks almost flawless. One account quicken no longer displayed correctly and I couldn't figure out the problem, was accurate in iBank--come on Quicken, you can export the data, why can't you display it. Anyway, I believe my search is over. The demo lets you import all your data but limits sessions to 15 minutes which I think is a thoughtful solution for an adequate evaluation; also a 30 day money back quarantee.

Don't waste your money on this product.

I bought the Mac version of this app when I needed to start keeping track of the financial information my father-in-law had been keeping for my wife. Unfortunately for me, he has a PC and I have a Mac, and I was silly enough to think that the Mac version of Quicken would allow me to do this. After months of attempting various imports of various formats, digging through labyrinthine support forums and documentation, trying imports that would sometimes work and sometimes just SILENTLY drop entries that I would only later notice after doing a line by line comparison.... I *finally* found the tiny footnote on the support page that said that, oh, woops, some kinds of data simply cannot be transferred from the Windows program to the Mac program. Nice.

So then I tried to use it "normally"...not trying to to anything fancy, just import some bank statements and the like. Crashes all over the place. Completely non-intuitive interface. Features implemented in the crappiest way possible. Finally I just gave up.

If you simply must have Quicken, buy yourself VMWare Fusion or Parallels and then buy the Windows version of Quicken, which works great.

Otherwise, try iBank.

Please, this product is a joke!!!. This product don't manage accounts in foreing currencies, so, if you have accounts or investments in Euros or other currencies, you won't use this product. I recommend LiquidLedger is a more simple product, but you can manage your finances comfortably.
