Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Probably a good game...if you have a really powerful computer!
I have been playing FS2004 for several years now (since it was originally released), and I have enjoyed every minute of it!! Unfortunately, the game CD was damaged, so instead of replacing it, I went out and bought FSX.

I found, to my dismay, that FSX won't work on my computer. I have a fairly good (though not great by today's standards) computer: XP-Professional with SP2, Intel Centrino Duo CPU @ 1.73GHz, 1GB of RAM, and 100GB hard drive that is only about 1/3 full. With these specs, FSX doesn't work very well. However, FX2004 works absolutley great!!

So I'm simply going to buy another FS2004, and hold on to FSX until I get a substantially better computer. If your computer specs are anything close to what mine are, I recommend you do the same.

So...it's probably a good game, but you need a newer or substantially upgraded computer if you actually want to play it!

I was looking on amazon for a flight simulator book and came across these wretched reviews for a pretty fun, awesome, fast game. I'm not sure what kind of crappy computers people are buying these days ( i bought a computer at walmart for $400 that runs FSX at pretty decent graphics settings) but i have a macbook pro thats about a year old with a 2.0 ghz duo and 128 mb grphics card and im running windows xp on it with 1.5 gigs of ram. needless to say i maxed out every setting and it runs wonderfully. The only reason i wouldnt give this game 5 stars is because it doesnt have a radar altimeter ( boggles my mind that x-plane does and FSX doesnt) and you cant click everything. I wish there was a FMS too, but cant win them all. If you bought a computer within the last year you should be able to run this program with great graphics setting. Im sure everyone who wanted this program has it and im sure i will be getting the next flight sim that comes out, but for now i gtg because im going from EGLL-BIRK. ciao

This is nice to use over two monitors, as I keep the ATC, kneeboard, and GPS display visible on the second monitor using the undock feature. I found this easier to use when I gave it a little time.

Just received my copy of FSX and I just love it. This is a vast improvement over FS9. The AutoGen is a great tool that allows more graphics to be seen with little hits on frame rate. If you have a power system you can run all sliders up and see moving car traffic, boats and AI aircraft. Even on low powered system, you can still have a great time flying with good frame rates, which will allow you to concentrate on flying your aircraft with smooth control. However, you will loose all the pretty graphics that is capable in FSX. You can strike a balance between excellent FR and sweet graphics too.

The program has too many bugs and seems like it was released prematurely. I am sorry but I cannot recommend this product to anybody.
