There is a reason this is the #1 selling GPS on Amazon it just works well overall. It is easy to use and says the names of the streets, you can see the screen well, it isn't too bulky and the price is right. Of course if you want bluetooth and wanna talk on the phone on your GPS this isn't for you but I could care less about those things.

Just talked to their customer service, they DON'T give free map upgrade to any previous purchase even within 1 day old. They just guarantee new maps when purchased.

I know there are so many reviews to go on, so I will keep mine simple.
Questions I had when searching:
. Some of my friends said that you have to type in the address from a laptop/home computer. Thankfully they were wrong. The alphabet and numerics are all on this great gadget!! Type it from anywhere!!
. Wrong turns? Garmin will 'recalculate' and give you a new route as you go. It will say 'recalculating' when doing so.
. Destination. It always shows you the next step written on the top of the screen as well as audio instructions.
. Stops. I needed to stop at a pharmacy the other day, so when I turned off the car I put it to battery mode. No need to add another stop to your trip. Once I was back on the main road again it was like I never left!!
. Routes. You can watch a route at home ahead of time if you would like. If you do not flip up the antenna it will ask if you would like to simulate the route. Watch yourself go, it's kinda slow, but nice if you want to compare to other routes.
. Setup. It's as easy at 1,2,3!! Just like everyone said in other reviews. It comes with a quick set up guide, covers the basics and a little more.
My husband used to travel everywhere through out Chicago, suburbs, southern Illinois. We all said he was a walking talking road map!
Unfortunately, he was injured on the job and has become disabled. He no longer drives. So, instead of relying on him to talk me through another trip to another hospital, doctor, or whatever Garmin does it for me!! Yay!! You will love this product!! :)

great! also included was a leather case and in-home (plug-in to socket) charger. Both of these could cost a lot more separately.

Dad loves this unit. He's an old rusty nail, but even he can keep up with the simple user interface Garmin provides.
