Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas V2.0

Domain Name Com's - : Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas V2.0

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Damn Kids
This NOT for children.. as an Adult, this game is a blast, with only a couple tech issues, it runs great V2 ie this one, handles HDTV formats and standard but no custom reselutions.. which can be a problem for some of us.. and most of the mods online will not function with it.

but none the less, If you have ever wanted to steal a jet pack from area 51 put on a full Gimp suite (thats S&M stuff) and fly over the Las Vegas strip taking pot shots at elvis impersanotors, this is the game for.. well theres tones of other stuff too..

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Didn't Care to See Hot Coffee
Machinema porn didn't really seem to make it worth the extra cost to get the original version so I opted to buy the version of GTA that lets kids of all ages carjack a ride to mow down pedestrians without triggering widespread outcry from fundamentalists and prudes. I'm just that cheap.

Even though this is the "special" version 2.0 of GTA San Andreas, there is still lots of fun to be had without seeing the privates of a polygonal mapped video game character. You can still use cheat codes to hook yourself up with a number of cars, change the environments physics, or get a variety of guns/enhancements for engaging in widespread carnage wholly unrelated to the game. Of course you could also just play the game and beat it which will come in very handy when, later in life, you recollect how your time could have been better spent in youth or adult-hood.

As for me...I played the game itself until I unlocked all the areas I could access which I actually considered to be a chore. Once that was done I burned my saves onto a disc and uninstalled the game. About once a month I'll install it so that I can repeatedly drive/fly as fast as I can toward things that will end up bending physical laws to the point of absurdity. Yeah, it's a waste but I probably won't regret it as much as:

1. Feeling aroused by machinema porn.
2. Getting upset about machinema porn.
3. Being a hypocritical fundamentalist/authoritarian.

The good: Graphics, cheat codes, better control of character, expansive areas to explore, lots of hidden sub-games/tasks, works with most consumer level computers (even recent onboard video [i.e. I can play this on my tablet A with a geforce 2 go or tablet B with a Intel GMA-950 at 30+fps).

The bad: No multi-player modes, mostly repetitive building textures/designs with only a few landmarks, subtle jokes for business names/pedestrians/etc replaced with a handful of cliche jabs, radio was boring (period music was a poor selection/talk radio was annoying/commercials were stupid or annoying instead of clever), and potentially fun places/vehicles lacked exploiting the opportunity to incorporate fun things to do there (i.e. the skate park).

The blah: Demolition derby/RC Airplane/Chase the Train. These are all things that could be fun in their own games or as well engineered parts of the GTA line. Unfortunately they end up as tedious parts of the game which, when taken in totality with the game itself, amounts to performing a set of tasks for an often mediocre reward. The problem with the entire line is how closely one comes to spending a 40-hour work week simulating the 24/7 work week of a thug. It's so boring that I abstained from the game as much as possible.

Special point (added later): I neglected to mention that Rockstar's packaging for the game is excellent. The hard-bound book format case and poster are a real treat and though I didn't actually read it there appears to be quite a bit in the pages of the book that could interest die-hard fans. I'm not sure if people actually hang these posters on the wall but if that appeals your sensibilities the packaging alone is worth it!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Loads of irresponsible fun. Two thumbs up! Way up!
If you ever wanted to live a Boyz N The Hood movie, this is about as close as it gets. It's basically like GTAIII, but in a 'hood environment. Some of the mini-games are kind of cool, like the hydraulic bounce-offs and club dancing. The soundtrack is awesome with everything from seventies disco to Snoop Dogg. Game can be controller-throwing frustrating in places, but isn't every GTA game?

I would recommend getting 1.0 used before 2.0 new though. The removal of the Hot Coffee code amounts to censorship, and even though I've never exploited it, I don't like having the freedom to taken away. It's a principle thing.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - windows vista sucks
A fantastic game, but windows vista will not load it so I cannot play it.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - real fun. reaaally fun!
This game is really fun and i love it. You can do basically anything you want including crimes of course, but watch out for the police. I recommend this game to anyone who does not care for profanity or gang violence. Get this game if you want some fun.
