- Worse than useless! Do NOT buy this software!

I have nothing good to say about this package. Not only will this software bog down even the fastest computer to a snail's pace, what's worse is that shortly after purchasing this brand new, factory sealed software, I am now informed that my "subscription has expired," and that I must pay a substantial fee for new virus definitions! I purchased this software three weeks ago!
And good luck contacting their so-called "Customer Service." McAfee's idea of customer service is to list dozens of FAQs, none of which are likely to actually address your particular situation, and then make sure there is no possible way to phone them with questions.
I sincerely believe McAfee has committed an act of felony fraud in grossly misrepresenting this product. Anyone care to join me in a class action suit against McAfee?

- Internet Security Suite 2006 Ver.8.0
I had used Nortons Internet Security and was happy with it except that it does slow down the start up of the computer. McAfee is faster on start up. The big problem I had with McAfee is that on the new computer I just purchased there was a trial version of the anti-virus program. That program expired and I purchased the new version of McAfee Internet Security Suite. After installing the new version it kept saying that the anti-virus program had expired and I had to purchase a new subscription. It would not recognize that I just bought the program and installed it. I contacted McAfee by email at customer support and never got a reply. Finally after 2 attempts of uninstalling the new version, it seemed that it accepted that a new program was installed and the trial version was not there. As long as it thought the trial version was still installed and expired; the program would continue to have pop up windows stating that the subscription needed to be renewed and would want you to go to their website. This caused conflicts with what ever program I was working on.

I have been trying to utilizse Internet Security 8 since October. I bought a 3 unit license which performs fine on one computer, but only catches half of the spam. On the second one, however,I downloaded it and the software declared it was installed. Never worked. The computer keeps popping up a McAfee error "an unexpected error has occured in MpfTrayerrors.txt" no matter what program it is in. If I try to uninstall it gives me another error " The installation cannot continue because some components are missing." I am stuck in limbo and cannot even get rid of the useless software. Their support is just as bad. I had to explain over and over again what the problem was to a new support agent on every call. All they could do, if you were even able to understand them, was read a scripted solution. Somehow I will eventually get it off my machine.

- Problem with Version 8.0
I have McAfee Antivirus that came with my laptop purchased early 2005. Before renewal in that is due in April, I wanted to have a CD that is for 2006. But I can not install it because with updates my antivirus is Version 8.0, since McAfee refuse to extend the expiration date I had been trying to return the product to Amazon for over 3 weeks. Somehow the Return Authorization package has not arrived yet. I am at a loss, hope to resolve the issue via email.

I had the McAfee Virus Scan 2005 and decided to upgrade to the Internet Security Suite 2006. Good, but not impressed by it. The updates for the Privacy option are too often and require every time a reboot of your PC.
