Electronics AUDIO TECHNICA ATH-EM7GM Clip-on Headphones

Domain Name Com's - Electronics : AUDIO TECHNICA ATH-EM7GM Clip-on Headphones

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Light, clear, crisp sound
Bought them for $49 from J&R and I believe they are worth every single penny. Very, very comfortable to wear, the sound is clear, crisp, and simply.. beautiful (I listen to pretty much everything but R&B, and I love the way they sound - anything from ambient new age to metal to reggaeton to audiobooks). I compared them to semi-professional Sonys and Pioneers ($100+) while I was in the store, and Audio-Technica's won every time on audio quality.
Try them today!

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Loveable earphones
pros:
very stylish
overall good sound quality
comfortable( I used it for 5 hrs, it's true!)

cons:
weak bass!!
tend to slip (rarely- I guess that's because I have small ears)

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - GREAT design and aesthetics, but where's the bass!?
I read the other reviews here on Amazon before purchasing these headphones. Unfortunately there isn't much selection in the clip-on area and these appeared to be the best. After getting them, however, I'm very disappointed with the bass production. It's...nonexistent? That's an exaggeration, but it is very muted. In comparison, the treble comes through loud and clear, leading to a sound I'd describe almost as "scratchy". Compared to my Sony MDR-V300 headphones (over the head) these are junk.

That said, I didn't buy these headphones for heavy-duty listening. I got them primarily for commuting and other activities where larger headphones (and long cords) are a bit unwieldy and bothersome. The aluminum look is very nice, and the ear pads are made of a soft rubber which is very comfortable. They are some of the most comfortable headphones I've ever worn.

When it comes down to it, I'm not sorry I got these headphones, just a bit disappointed. I bought them for commuting and traveling, and for that they'll do a good job. If you're looking for sound quality, though, I would urge you to stay away and look elsewhere.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great compact, affordable headphones
These do exactly what I expected them to do. I wanted small, light headphones that were comforable and allowed me to hear program from a source (I-Pod, computer, etc.) without sealing off the real world. These are great for commuters on a bus or train as well as use in the house when you want to hear your podcast or video game without disturbing anyone else AND being able to maintain awareness of your surroundings. The "flip out" feature is pretty nifty in that it does not seal off your ear at all and you can adjust the 'program/real world' blend with the volume control of your playback device.

Be advised, these do not reproduce low frequency information very well- in other words, there is no thump. Then again, the little things that come with an I-Pod, that you cram into your ears, don't either. Despite the published specs on virtually every headphone in the world, there are very few headphones that can faithfully reproduce sound below about 70Hz, and that is true of these. But again, that's not what I was shopping for. The few headphones that do actually "bump," have very large diaphragm drivers and are advertised with tags like "Enhanced Bass."

Furthermore, this is a poor choice of headphones for any live DJ for the reasons listed above, ie. no isolation and poor low frequency reproduction.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Audio Technica ATH EM7
These look as good as they sound. Extremely clear, and crisp. Full range in sound. Using it with a Creative Vision M. Plenty of flexibility with all of the EQ settings and bass boost from the MP3 player. Like the clip on design too, very light on the ears.
I also have a pair of the ATH AD700's and the clarity and seperation is very similar. Very happy with the purchase.
