Prince of Persia: Warrior Within

Domain Name Com's - : Prince of Persia: Warrior Within

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - A Twist of Fate
Warrior Within is the second game in the current generation series of three Prince of Persia games (to date) released by Ubi.

The story resumes a few years after the conclusion of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. The Prince is now war hardened from the past years in battle. He now has a menacing style and persona when compared to his previously unthreatening appearance and innocent soul. Returning to his home of Babylon, the prince finds that he is being hunted down by a supernatural beast that is intent on destroying him at all costs. What it all really boils down to is that the prince created a rift in the space-time continuum as a result of his foolish actions in the previous game. Now Death is intent on hunting down the Prince. He must find a way to alter his fate before impending doom catches up to him.

To get right to the point - the game is another stunner! Every aspect of the game has been redesigned and tweaked to create an experience that rivals the previous title. The game play mechanics are extremely fluid and intuitive and the fighting system is much more complex than that found in Sands of Time but just as easy to use. The game is graphically gorgeous once again as it seems Ubi always pushes the visual envelope to the very edge. Everything about the game is fantastic with the exception of one thing, the music. In their efforts to make the Prince of Persia series more dark and burly, Ubi errantly opted to implement some not so fantastic heavy rock music into the game. That is quite likely just my opinion and is really not a major issue, but one to be aware of if you are expecting more of the same from the last game. All things considered, Prince of Persia: Warrior Within is another superb title that every action fan should own.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Alright game, but can get annoying
This is the first prince of persia i got, i never played the first one but i heard it was really good so i decided to get this one. From my opinion this really isnt my kind of game. I thought it was pretty bad and got annoying and boring.
STORY: A few yearws after the first chapter. The prince has returned home to babylon, to find himself hunted by a supernatural creature bent on his destruction. Forced to live a life on the run, he seeks councel from the Old Man, who explains that his actions have spawned a creature known as the Dahaka. The Duhaka now wants to end his life to solve a problem. Now the prince must travel back in time and stop the sands from ever being created.
The story line is ok, but it starts you off with no clue what is going on, u just see the prince running from a shadow it seems. There aren't that many cinematechs and cut-scenes so the story seems to drift into nowhere. And this is a great problem with games because it is the story line that keeps you interested even if the game has good gameplay.
The gameplauy is another midpoint. ITs ok, from what i thought. I thought it was way to repetitive. I mean its like this: walk in a room, kill the bad guys then find a way out of the room and into the next. And its the same thing over and over again. You keep on dealing with the same enemies over and over and there is barely any new ones. And the game gets confusing and annoying, like say you are hangin from a wall. You have to think so much: ok well i can either run up the wall and get on that platform or run of the wall and grab that or swing on that to get there or slide on this or walk on this or reverse time and try a super jump....I mean it just gets rediculous that you can do all these things and when you get to the point you dont kno which one you have to use to get on the platform. And its a long period of time before you get any actions when u are trying to figure out how to get in the next room, jumpin on this, climbing on that. Its just too much and after you die you have to start from ur last save point, they dont even give you checkpoints and you will fins yourself doing the same things over and over again until u beat it the right way. The other thing i hate is the camera angles, everything is so far away and the enemies look like little bugs, you cant see any detail on any characters while you are playing.
The controls are good but get confusing. What i mean by this is that there is way to many things jumps and kicks and running techniques you can do so you will find yourself going "wait is the white button to roll or is it the Y button?" and you will hit the wrong button and end up by accident jumping off the cliff and having to start at your last checkpoint unless you wanna use your rewind time thing, but you end up running out of that a lot. Or you will also be like this "is A-A-A a tripple jump or is it A-B-Y?" there is too many combos to remember.
The graphics i thought were only good in the cut-scense. In the actual game play they suck. The characters and people even look odd, like there heads are huge and legs are really short, they look like cartoon characters. And even if the graphics were good you cant see any detail cause the camera is too far away to see.
This game is just not for me, i mean if you like the type where you need to find a way out of a room kind of game then be my guest and by this game but it just gets boring especially since all these new types of more fun games out there.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - The Return of the Prince
Prince of Persia: Warrior Within - Circa 2004

GOOD:
- Combat expanded from pervious game (Prince of Persia: Sands of Time)
- A few new abilities and acrobatics, as well as some new Enemies types
- Unlockable artwork and mini movies
- Bonus games see Additional Notes below

BAD:
- Combat might be too difficult or confusing for some
- Game glitches every now and then
- Really annoying boss battles

IF IT FITS YOUR TASTE:
- This game is a little more violent and bloody then the pervious game (Prince of Persia: Sands of Time)
- Many people did not like the change in the Prince's attitude, (in the first he was more an innocent soul) In this game the prince comes off more grim and dark
- Music not as theatrical as other Prince of Persia games this ones more hard rock

GAME ITS MOST ASSOCATED TOO:
- Prince of Persia: Sands of Time
- Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones

ADDITIONAL NOTES:
- This game has a hidden ending
- On this Xbox version you can play two different bonus mini-games one to test your combat and one to test your acrobatics, you can also upload your score on to Xbox-live
- A version on this game is also on Sony's PlayStation Portable that is renamed Prince of Persia: Revelations

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Great till the end
Game was amazing till I found out it had a bug which shows up after doing days of work and you want to fight the last boss. Makes me wish I never started it in the first place. I heard it may only happen with games purchased from companies who got cheap versions from overseas. Maybe don't buy it over the internet like I did, from here.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Prince of Persia: Warrior Within
This game really delivers in stepping up the graphics and level of difficulty from the Sands of Time. Worth playing!!!
