This is my first purchase of a flash drive and didn't really need more than 256MB of space. SanDisk is a highly reliable brand and for the 256MB size flash drive, it is competitively priced. I am a busy working mother of two and do not have time to shop around the "bricks and mortars" stores like Best Buy, etc. You can't go wrong buying this from Amazon.Com and will not pay any more or less than if you purchased it from a store. It installs easily, does not need any software to load on your PC or laptop. The carrying cord makes it convenient to carry the flash drive around your neck (and not lose it). It also comes with alternate pink and blue skins so if you ever want to look a little fashionable, this makes your drive look cute. Bottom line - good price, excellent value for the money and for those just staring out on a flash drive, this is the one to go with, and 256MB is about the right starting point for you. It was also delivered to my office within days - how's that for Amazon.Com service!

- Great product - for 2 weeks
This worked perfectly for 2 weeks, and then it suddenly failed. I could not write to the disk, and it kept giving me 'device I/O errors'.
I'm finding technical support not very helpful, it's been five days since they've responded to my last E-mail. Looks like money down the drain.

- THIS PIC IS THE "MICRO," NOT "MICRO SKINS"
The drive is great. But the orientation of the lanyard ring on the "Micro" (pictured) is rotated 90 degrees from that of the "Micro Skins" drive that is described in the text (and that you will receive if you order this product). Why does it matter? If you plan to put this on a keychain, the Micro Skins product will not lie flat with your keys. This product is, however, appropriate for wearing around your neck with a lanyard.
UPDATE: The lanyard ring broke off within 10 days of keychain use. DO NOT USE THIS ON A KEYCHAIN. It's not tough enough. But the drive still works just fine. I ordered the "Cruzer Micro" (not Skins) directly from SanDisk to put on my keychain. I placed the order from Sandisk after confirming they would send me the "Micro" not the "micro skins." They also sent the "micro skins." The (broken) drive still works fine, but I sure would like to find out how to get the drive actually advertized by Amazon and Sandisk.

A final note, I contacted Amazon about the wrong picture being posted with this product, and while they sent a nice "thank you" e-mail, they obviously don't care. Nor does Sandisk. Sad. So sad.

- Superb sized, good performance, good price
I bought this after looking quite a while for a 256MB Flash drive. It has a good price, nice design and a good size. The nice thing about the skins (which are semi-transparent) is that you can insert a small paper with your personal data in case the device get lost (Fat chance, I know, but some people are honest, believe me...)

I knocked it one star because the drive tends to heat quite a bit when reading and/or writing large files. Other than that, I find it a good product.
Added April 1, 2006: The original skin tend to get loose, so sometimes you pull up on the drive and all you get out is the plastic skin...

We recently bought this for our 10 year old for 4th grade.. He clipped it into his backpack, took it to school and plugged it straight into the class computer and was ready to go, that easy. It is so much easier than floppy discs and he loved the colored skins.
