- Dying to Play (Really!)
Nice graphics and a logical story thread rolled around a tough first-person shooter game. I'm not a gamer "guru" - I just like them. I started in Medium difficulty which was a huge challenge. Some of the Big Boss fights are near impossible, even using the \save_game cheat. I had to use another cheat to pass to one of the next levels, giving up after being killed what seems like a thousand times. You can get killed with a couple of shots, and shooting an AI with a rocket doesn't phase them!

The second round I played Easy mode, and knowing the terrain and the bad guys, you can take your time blasting your way through a level and begin hunting the AI's instead of their targeting you. And, I found a lot of stuff I didn't know was in the game, the price you pay for the fierce fights in an upper level of difficulty. The Difficult or the "Realistic" modes must be nightmarish.

This game will tax your system so turn the cooler fans on, and download the most recent drivers for your sound and video drivers. A fun side-track is to use your binoculars a lot in the game. They not only pinpoint the AI's, you can zoom in and listen to their conversations. Some are funny (ala No One Lives Forever) and some give clues. All in all a great game challenge.

It's a great first person shooter game. The idea is good and the graphics aren't so much that a fairly normal computer can handle them. It's a pretty long game as well so it can keep the non-extreme gamer entertained for at least a little while. Overall fun and i would recommend it. The basic idea is that you are x-special forces and somehow you arrived on this distant island that some scientist is secretly testing ways to make some crazy beast for fighting and your job with the help of a Doctor and a hot lady are to stop them. Of course you run into all sorts of issues along the way though....

This game is very easy to manuver using the mouse for veiws, aiming, and the keyboard for foward backward, side to side.

You have access to a long range of senery and sniping ability.

The attackers are not predictable and they will flank you.

Have to stop playing, my fingers are tired but stronger!

This is without out doubt the Best Graphics I have ever seen on any game. It's got preety good sound, great non-linier gameplay, great replay value, multipule level settings, very long (5 disks), pretty good story, and a lot of weapons. The AI aren't the best but they are still fun to play against. This is one of the Best (if not the best) FPS I have ever played!!! Well done Cretek. I can't wait untill CRYSIS comes out. Its the next Game by Cretek.

If you like first Person Shooters, You have to buy this game. As a matter of fact it should not even be a question. For 10 bucks How can you lose? Huh? I bought this game 2 years ago, back when it was still 39.99 and I will tell you. I got my money's worth, the CD actually stopped working because I played this game too much. The AI is smart and does things you will not truly expect. However, every once in a while you get a dumb AI, but it is very uncommon. If you play single Player on the hardest mode, you can only get so good, and every once in a while the AI will give you an butt whooping. During play the checkpoints are arguably to far apart. But that is the fun. It should be a challenge to get to that next save, besides, if you lose, you just get to kill more and is that not a plus? The maps even are big and does not make you feel that your are boxed in or have to take a specific route, like with every single FPS. There are also lot of place to take cover, behind rocks, trees, boxes, etc so you know it will have and does have the perfect mix of the old school style shoot outs. For game play, it is hard for me to even start, I have to say that it has the best game play out of any First Person Shooter despite the graphics being dated. Once you beat the game, the first thing you will want to do is have a snack, then go back and try to beat it again, and again, and again, compelled to do even better each round. This will be pretty much the only game you will really need until CRYSIS comes out late this year. As a matter of fact, I am going to play Farcry right after I get finished with this review, and chances are, I am even playing it as you read this review
