for $34.99, you get a USB cable and software. susteen sells the cable separately for $29.95 on their web site. so if you think of the software as only costing $5, it's not too bad a deal. (i don't understand how they can charge that for a cable that cost $0.50 to make, but that's another matter).

i bought this because i got a new phone. i wanted to pull phonebook information from my old phone and from my outlook contacts and load them all onto my new phone. it turned into quite a chore and took several hours.

first issue: bad software design. if you're looking for something easy to use, refined, and intuitive, look somewhere else. it is frustrating to understand, and the online help and support is essentially nonexistent. the ringtone editor is kind of fun to play with once you understand what's going on. i still haven't figured out why i can't upload ringtones to my phone.

second issue: the installer has a feature for retrieving updates automatically...afterwards, i found that there were newer versions of both the software and the USB cable drivers available on the web site. it was a scavenger hunt making sure i had the latest versions. the boxed version i received was almost 2 years out of date.

(note: the USB driver is installed to make your USB port act as a COM port (usually COM3). this isn't really made clear until you install it. when you load your phonebook information, it is a complete replacement for any existing phone numbers.)

i finally got my phonebook loaded the way i wanted it, but i can't recommend this to anyone who does not have skills or time enough to figure out how to make it work.

I you have more than 20 phone numbers this is a must have. At Sprint they were unable to transfer my phone book from my old phone to my new one (although they were able to do the transfer for my wife and a friend that had/have the exact same phones). This enable us to share number, plus keep a back up on the computer in the event of a problem. I would have given this product 5 stars if the ringtone portion of the software was worth anything (ie: if you were able to convert and transfer MP3's) but alas for the price the phone book feature alone makes it worth it.

I have only written a few reviews... too little time. But I am so pleased by this product that I will make time.

This product includes the USB cord AND software. (Some companies sell each product separately... )

What a success!

My cell phone is Sprint's Sanyo PM-8200. Works perfectly at home and office with Windows XP and Outlook. I've transferred pictures, updated and backed up my contact list without problems. Reading and editing outlook appointments on the phone has been less optimal due to phone limitations. However, the software product works.

The price was a bargain, considering that other stores, i.e., Radio Shack, several on-line stores... were much higher... nearly 2x the price I paid at Amazon.

Although I have only one Sanyo Cell-phone, I was pleased to read that I could connect up to "five" different phones. Anyway... this product works. If I lost the software and USB cord, I would buy this product again.

I just needed an easy way to get pictures off my camera onto my computer. After emails to and from tech support we got this product to work. And for what I need it for it works fine. I have even used it to upload some ringtones to my phone which worked fine as well. There is some tweeking that needs to be done from time to time. (Re-booting usually does the trick.) I paid way too much for mine, but for the price here it is probably a decent value.Haven't tried to do much more with it but may try someday. If you want something simple, or get frustrated easily, find something else.

I am computer savvy, and this item just does not work. It does not connect and hangs up my new computer, slowing it down significantly. I tried it with another computer, with the same results. Tech Support was very poor. There are other manufacturers who sell similiar products. Go with them instead, and save yourself the frustration and money.

I strongly recommend that others avoid this product and this company.
