- A classic!
Starcraft was made by the same team that made warcraft, and it shows. But instead of the same old game with a different look Starcraft really distinguishes itself as the standard for space-based RTS games. The graphics look great, the main plotline's well written, the soundtrack is top-notch, a great game.

Two thumbs up!

Starcraft is simply unmatched in the history of computer gaming. In my opinion, only the Civilization series comes close, so it's just a choice between real-time and turn-based games.

Here's why Starcraft rules real-time strategy:

Great story. You spend time playing each of the three races, fighting against every combination of enemies, and yet it always makes sense. You won't always see it coming -- there are a few surprises -- but the fantastic storyline keeps you believing. The high quality cinematic cut scenes don't hurt, either.

Perfect balance. The three races in the game aren't just different graphics over the same units. And yet they are fairly matched.

Good learning curve. You'll generally have to work to beat the scenarios, but they don't hand you an entire task force in your first mission.

Superb replay value. Name another game from the last decade that you still play. Did you actually come up with one? I'll bet it's your favorite, right? OK, well Starcraft will be your other favorite. You can replay the original campaigns (yes, they actually work more than once!), download more from Blizzard for free, or play your friends on the internet. This game was built to last.

I give Starcraft five stars because Amazon doesn't allow six stars even for the truly exceptional. Buy one. Enjoy!

- this is THE BEST game!
this game is sooo fun. i SERIOUSLY reccomend this AWESOME game for anyone who likes games like civilization, rise of nations, age of mythology, ect. i play this all the time and really think that lots of people would appreciate this game. you get to choose which species that you want to be, there are three options, and each has its pros and cons. then, you can play computers or other players over the internet, and you can work towards beating the game. this is a really cool game and i think ANYONE ovar about 10 would LOVE it.

- No One Game Can Be Compared To Starcraft
Starcraft is often considered as the best statergy game of all time. Its about 3 races, the rebellious human Terrans, swarming aliens zerg and the all mysterious powerful Protoss. Fight for survival in major galatic battles against each other for supreme dominace. Command your Gunned Up Robot Walking Golieths, Massive Starship Carriers or Battle Cruisers, your swarms of Alien Zerglings or even blast a nuclear strike against your opponent to blow him into oblivion.

The storyline of the game is set in the future. Its about the Terran Confederacy Army fighting for survival against the Protoss forces. But something strange is happening...sittings of another alien like speices are becoming quite frequent. Another race emerges, the swarming alien race known as the zerg. The zerg are massing in swarms, and devouring anything in their path. Now the race is on to be dominant species, the protoss have the technology, the terran have the fire power and the zerg have the numbers. Who will win?

Finished the single player Campaign? No worrys, as one major feature of this game is its online capabilities. Enter a whole new world of Starcraft playing online agaisnt oppenents worldwild!

Starcraft is a must for any stratergy gamer. I rate this game 10/10 and give it two thumbs up!!!

Starcraft is hands-down the greatest Real-Time-Strategy game of ALL TIME. It's considered a SPORT in korea, getting live broadcasts on tv stations daily. I have played this game for 5 years, and I'm still as interested in it now as I was 5 years ago. For a game that has been out since 1998, there are still more people playing this game than most new titles today. In my opinion, Starcraft ranks as #1 game of all time.
