- It's even fun for total dorks like me!
I'm not a big fan of shoot-em-up type games, but after reading some reviews for GTA:VC, I studied it a bit further. After hearing about the amazing graphics and open-ended play, I decided to take a chance and lay down my money. Only twenty bucks considering this game's been out for some time. It was well worth it.

Firstly, yes, the graphics are great. I wouldn't say spectacular, but very good. The scale of the world of Vice City, though, IS truly amazing. There's virtually no where you can't go, and the sheer size of the city itself is daunting. The open-endedness of the game is what really turned me on. I could clobber bums (...) for some extra pocket money, or steal myself a cab to raise some dough. I've tried a few of the missions and rampages, but will obviously need some more practice with weapons before completing them. I look forward to using my clout on the street to advance through the missions.

Coming from someone who's idea of a fun computer game is anything "Sim"-related or with the word "Tycoon" in the title, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City is indeed refreshing, despite the bloody mess.

this game is the second best game of all time the city is glamorous its fun funny great story line rockstar has made a great game but i recomend the abslute best game in the world just came out to get san andreas now thats a game that keeps you playing robbing homes swimming tatoos hair cuts ext. what more can you ask for its so big r* even had to put it on a dcd (dual layer compact disk) cause a regular cd could not hold all the game on it almost 6 times bigger than vice city almost no loading times non going through citys its the game youve been waiting for for ever get it you will love and cherish it for the rest of your life oh and three major city now thats what makes it even better

This game is the best game ever. It has great music, great graphics, and great physics.

The things i didn't like were the AI, the cops are way to stupid to seem real, i watch cops all the time and they are more smart in the game.

Some might say this game (or GTA3) makes kids do stupid things like drive cars when they are under the legal driving age. I'm under 17, and this game did not do that at all. In fact, because of this game and watching cops, I would not want to drive or even get my lisense because i don't trust myself, and it's to easy to crash.

If i ever get angry at school or homework or something, instead of doing something stupid, i just play this game and i'm usually happy after 20-30 minutes. It's like a stress-reliver.

This game is good for people 13 or 14 and up. It's rated M, not NC-R. The bestbuy i got it from had a sticker that read "Do not sell to anyone under 18." I was like WTF? M means recommended 17 and up, like the R rating for movies.

I can't wait until GTA:SA comes out in about a week. It will be the new best game ever.

Ok, so Tommy can't swim. And sometimes cars will vanish if you turn your back on them for a second. So what? If you analyzed Van Gogh's "Sunflowers" you could probably find stuff to complain about there too. The point is that this game is possibly the crowning achievement of the relatively brief history of computer gaming, right up there with 1997's Total Annihilation.

Vice City has everything: a huge "fun factor," a great soundtrack, a wide variety of vehicles to carjack, planes, helicopters, boats, a great sense of humor, excellent voice acting, a beautifully imagined 1980's Miami "feel," and an almost unlimited number of things to do: you can undertake the missions you receive from various members of the underworld; you can participate in dirtbike races; you can grab a helicopter or sportbike and just ride around the city; you can be a vigilante, ambulance driver, fireman, or pizza delivery boy to earn cash; you can buy businesses and collect revenue; you can just mug people on the street for money; you can collect money by finding "insane stunt" opportunities around the city... this is the most open-ended game I've ever seen.

The genius of the game is in the details. The more you play Vice City, the more you realize how lovingly crafted it is. It's the synergy between the various gameplay elements that makes this game far more than the sum of its parts. You're a Liberty City (aka New York) thug named Tommy Vercetti, perfectly voiced by Ray Liotta, who ends up in Vice City (Miami) and slowly builds his criminal empire. But the plot here isn't central; it's just an excuse for some of the most fun-filled gameplay ever conceived. Not every mission is brilliant (the remote-controlled helicopter mission, for example, doesn't fit the "feel" of the game and becomes tedious quickly), but why quibble? You probably don't want your kids playing this, but otherwise you have no excuse not to get this game if you haven't yet, especially at this price.

The most fun you'll have legally for twenty bucks.

I first Played this game on PS2 on vacation with a friend of mine and loved and after a while it came out on PC i finally got it and realized it is even better on PC then it was on PS2 which suprised me. I cannot wait til San Andreas comes out on PC and Maybe this time it will come out on Game Cube then i'll buy it on PC and on the cube that would be sweet. If this game was real life which yes i realize it is not, VCPD (Vice City Police Department) would beg me to be a cop because i can drive and shoot and niether the bad nor the good can catch me ahahahahah. Plus i can do this in a game an there is no consequenses like is i was to go kill a cop in real i know that and that is the fun in it it lets you know the truth in things. you steal a cars your gonna get hurt you mess with a gang you may get killed you jump out of a helicopter and land on a tank yea you won't get up it educational.....in on way or another. Have fun And go Rock Star Games!!!!!!
