Electronics Maxell Noise-Cancellation Headphones

Domain Name Com's - Electronics : Maxell Noise-Cancellation Headphones

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Mixed Review
These are great headphones while they are still working. The noise cancellation is adequate (I have used them on an airplane and in other noisy environments and they manage to cancel out almost all of the environmental noise, and they are also manufactured in such a way that the band between the headphones has somewhat of a forward lean so that you xcan recline in your airplane seat and not be resting against the headphone band). However, having owned these headphones for almost 2 years, I had to replace them several times. This was precipitated by one side of the headphones suddenly not transmitting sound, so I would only be getting sound to my right ear and not my left. This might have been caused by the somewhat bulky battery case that is inline with the headphone wire itself and puts some strain on the wire whenever you wind up the cord to put them away. Luckily, Wal-Mart carried these for a number of years, so I was able to keep exchanging them whenever they ceased functioning properly. Overall, if you have $40 to spend and you're not planning on having these be your lifelong headphones, they are a good buy, and you won't be disappointed with the sound quality.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Good headphones for the price
I think the other reviewer may have gotten a bad pair of headphones. I'm listening to mine right now and they are delivering a good bass sound. They deliver good upper range sound as well and recreate music from cd with good volume and clarity.

The noise cancellation works as well as any other noise cancelling headphones, which is to say that it filters out low frequency noise like jet and train engines and not higher frequency sounds like conversation. The closed ears go a long way to filtering out stray noise, though, and are comfortable enough that I've been able to wear them all day.

The plastic construction feels somewhat flimsy but I've had mine banging around in my bag for several months and have thrown it in my carry-on for flights and train trips and it hasn't broken yet. The adjustable length is fine for me, though it was a little large for my wife even on the smallest settings.

The main reason I purchased these instead of another pair, though, is the price. These are the best value I could find in closed cup noise cancelling headphones. Overall I might have given the product 4 stars, but for the low price I added one.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Awesome product for the money.
About two months ago, I went on a long trip with a friend of mine, and he told me to try out his Maxell NC-II Noise Cancellation Headphones so I did, and I was really impressed. I heard high quality sound, and really excellent noise cancellation. After listening to them for about 20 minutes riding down the Interstate, in a Honda CRV that had a LOT of road noise, I really wanted a pair of these. So I asked how much they cost, expecting him to say around $150 or so. He told me "I got them for about 40 bucks." A week or so before, I had tried out a couple pairs of Bose Noise Canceling headphones, and the cheapest of the two, were about $200 and it wasn't very comfortable for that price. Nowhere near as comfortable as the $40-50 Maxell NC-II.

So today I bought the Maxell NC-II's and I'm jamming out to various rock songs as I'm typing this, and I have a very loud Microsoft Natural Keyboard, and can't even hear myself type. I've noticed also, that I just using these for a little bit, I can hear more of the background instruments, like they are clearer and stand out. Good for playing games like Far Cry, where you use audio to tell exactly where the enemy is. Plus the ambient jungle sound effects in it sound awesome!! These have to be about the best headphones you can get for the money.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Don't waste your time or money
Okay, I needed something for at work so I could listen to music and videos without disturbing everyone else.
I was reading reviews around the internet and they looked good. I read one that said they sound wicked and are cheap at Wal-Mart.com. I ordered them.
I must say in their defence the noise cancelling aspect works alright... but that's all that works. The sound is way off... very high pitched and NO BASS at all. Believe me when I say that too... I tried numerous songs and tests... NONE at all. They are not what I was hoping for at all. Waste of money

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - All- Stars!
These headphones are seemingly without a glich.
Ok, they say these "Noise Canceling". But they can't be THAT good.

Well It's ok. Just ok.

PROS: -What People are missing is that there not just good at blocking out sound. THEY HAVE GREAT SOUND THEMSELVES!

What I mean is, they have REALY cool sound.

Example: You can hear a sound from behind your left ear.

Example: You hear a sound, than turn your head to see what made it.

THESE HEADPHONES HAVE GREAT SOUND!

CONS: People who listen alot (like me.) are dissapointed when they swich to a diffrent pair of headphones.

I think anyone who wants a diffrent listen should give these a spin.
