This is an excellent book and an exceptional value. It's a good walkthrough of all of the iLife applications, it's in full color, and it's only $30 retail. That's fantastic!

As you would expect, the writing is good, the production is great. Screenshots are used sparingly but well. And the advice in the sidebars is fun as always.

Definitely worth your money. Wow, what a steal.

Before OS X came out, Macintosh users were treated to quite possibly the best OS experience for the past 15+ years, but when OS X was released it was like the wheel had been reinvented but it actually rolled better. With the release of OS X came such great applications such as iTunes, iPhoto, iMovie, iDVD, and GarageBand to make a great computing environment that much better. Using these applications is simple enough due to the fantastic engineering that Apple consistently puts out, but in order to get the most out of these apps you need David Pogue's iLife '05: The Missing Manual. Longtime Macintosh supporter David Pogue has written a wonderful guide for all heavy Mac users that love what these applications have to offer and wish to learn and get even more out of them. With this book, Mr. Pogue has achieved exactly that and all Mac users will be very pleased with all that is contained within these pages.

Allotting 700+ pages to write about these 5 applications, this book is overflowing with FULL COLOR images on nearly every page, as this book just jumps out at you saying "Read Me" from the first page you open up. At the low retail price of $29.95 you are getting a great deal with all the information that is contained within, and it's written in a clear, concise manner that all readers will be able to follow and enjoy.

If you use even 1 of the applications mentioned above you should at least take a look at this book. If you use 2 or more it's a helpful companion to have sitting next to your Macintosh and if you use all you would be remiss to not have this in your home.

This is a great book! I have used iPhoto almost every day since its first release, and I found tips in this book that have made the whole iPhoto experience even more user friendly than it already was. I also use iMovie and iDVD to make slide shows and to edit movies from my digital camcorder. I have purchased other books about iMovie and iDVD, but none was as comprehensive as this one. All of David Pogue's Missing Manual books (I have purchased four others) are written in a humorous, easy to read style that makes sometimes difficult topics simple for even those of us who are not technically inclined. I highly recommend this book!
