Sony's PlayStation 3 games are encoded onto the Blu-Ray disc media format, which can hold six times as much data as traditional DVDs. This increase in capacity--combined with the awesome power of its processor and graphics card--promises mind-blowing games once developers have learned how to fully harness the new console's power. The PS3 will also support CD-ROM, CD-RW, DVD, DVD-ROM, DVD-R, DVD+R formats. In addition, PlayStation 3 system software update version 2.20 and up includes BD Live support. With this you can now play discs that support Blu-ray Disc Profile 2.0 (BD-LIVE) and you can also connect to the Internet while playing discs that support this format so that you can obtain additional features. The Dualshock 3 Rumble Wireless Controller
The Dualshock 3 Rumble wireless controller for the PlayStation 3 system provides the most intuitive game play experience with pressure sensors in each action button and the inclusion of the highly sensitive SIXAXIS motion sensing technology. Each hit, crash and explosion is more realistic when the user feels the rumble right in the palm of their hand. Sony has stated that the PS3 will have similar online connectivity and services as the next generation of Xbox Live. Calling it "an always on, always connected device," SCEI's chief technical officer Masa Chatani said the PS3 would be constantly in touch with a "PlayStation World" network "fundamentally based on community, communication commerce, and content." Technically, the infrastructure is there to make that connection. The PS3 supports 10BASE-T, 100BASE-TX, 1000BASE-T Ethernet, as well as IEEE 802.11 b/g wireless networking protocols.

- PS3 and great Sony support
PS3 is everything as advertised and more, Sony's customer service is the best I've ever called. Got a live person very quickly, they walked me through set up with the STR 720 receiver I bought to drive the audio/video, incredible movie experience on my plasma 1080p. Haven't played the game, plan to sell it.

Since ordering this bundle I have yet to find another video game title with as much action and emotion, with as much realism as MGS 4. The voice acting and animation is very convincing - the most convincing, in fact. Environments are spectacularly detailed from grassy trails to snowy hills. - Sony is on its way back to the top with the PS3
The blu ray player alone is worth the price, but the stunning gaming graphics and online features as well as the new dualshock controllers certainly made this purchase a no brainer. Madden 09 is awesome, and the shooter games like Resistance Fall of Man and MGS 4 make this system a must have. The Xbox 360 is a solid system and has been on the market longer, but Sony will soon recapture the gaming world with this. I am simply amazed.

I bought the PS3 because I'm a gamer. I love videogames since I was 9. But the main reason I purchased the PS3 is because of the Blu-Ray capability. If you own an HD TV or projector just like me, you'll be amazed at the quality the BR standard brings to your home theater experience.

Look at it as a Blu-Ray player that also gives you the opportunity to play the best games available in the videogame industry as of now. It's a two in one bargain.

This is a great bundle (if you can still find one out there). If you've read the other reviews and browse a little you'll notice that Sony released a newer 80 GB console, not in a bundle, and with its own pros and cons. They've even announced the 160 GB console, still don't know the price and the specifications. But as far as I'm concerned this is a very good deal because you get MGS4 and backward compatibility with PS2 games for the extra 100 bucks, which you won't get with the newest one.
