The printer has 32 MB of memory, has a 250-sheet paper capacity, and can print at up to 18 pages per minute for high-speed operation.

The flatbed scanner has a scanning resolution of 600 by 1200 dpi at 48 bits. A 40-page document feeder is included as well. Read-Iris Pro software is included and converts documents such as letters, faxes, and magazine articles into editable text files. The copy machine features the ability to copy at 18 cpm and can reduce or enlarge documents from 25 to 400 percent in 1 percent steps. The KX-MB271 uses a USB interface and is compatible with Windows 98, Windows 2000, Windows ME, and Windows XP. It is backed by a 1-year warranty.

Excellent value, simple set up. Only drawbacks: BIG footprint, no power switch. The toner cartridge is small (not sure exactly how many copies it will do).

Bought this Panasonic All-in-one in December 2007 to use as a copier. Makes really terrific quality copies. But after about 30 copies it started to make a grinding noise when I turned it on. (Oh by the way, it doesn't have an on/off switch. I HAD to put it on a power strip.)

Have to turn the unit on/off a few times until the grinding stops. I get a message that says "carriage error" on the display screen. I'm waiting for the right time to make the 105 mile one way trip to the nearest ... Read More

Pros: The shipping box shows a huge diagram showing exactly how to repack everything into the box, in case you need to ever send in for repairs. Operation is simple, yet versatile lots of function options. Heavy: reassuring ruggedness. Very, very easy to install/replace drum or ink cartridge!

Cons: Noisy, for instance a continuous fan noise. The original unpack, assembly is easy but there are no written directions, only lots of pictures. Took me awhile to turn the pieces around ... Read More

Good laser quality printing/copying/scanning. Excellent MSRP price.

Another NICE feature is that its easy to refill the laser printer toner cartridge using a toner refill kit. Since the cartridge just flips open, there is no need to drill holes. So say goodbye! to expensive new cartridges :-).
