This printer was huge. It took up every last bit of available space on my desk. It was sure impressive looking.
At 29 days after purchase, the magenta ink cart wasn't recognized by the printer. It was almost full. At this point, the printer wouldn't do anything, no scanning, no nothing. I wanted a new printer to use for a multitude of tasks.. the primary of which was to go with the new camera I purchased to print pictures. I found it easy to use and the quality of prints is wonderful. Only thing I can 'complain' about is the ink cartridges. Seems expensive to replace and not the easiest ones to find (I can't find the info on the box or in the instructions, I am going to have to open the printer and look at the ink cartridges to know which ones I need when they get low). I just bought an iMac at the Apple store. The store is currently offering a $100 rebate deal when you buy a printer there with a new Mac. After looking over the handful of printers they sell, I bought this one for a net cost after rebate of $80 - which is a pretty good price.

The quality of the prints is great. it uses less ink than my previous printers. The only problem is that it does so many things that you have to study all the instructions, which by the way are very clear.

I researched printers for a long time before deciding on the Canon Pixma MP610. It had the best features for my price range. It prints really fast. The scanning feature is really good too, it scans 4800 x 9600 resolution, and that's pretty good for the price I paid. I also like to 2 different paper feeders, 1 on top and 1 at the bottom.
