Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Nice case, tight fit.
I got this case with the DS-40 recorder. The case itself is quite nice and the recorder fits in it nicely. It's a tight fit like it was made for the DS-40.

The only issue that I've had thus far is that I would like to use the power adapter with this, and since the plug for the power adapter on the recorder is on the bottom, you have to remove it from the case to plug it in. I may be able to punch a hole in the bottom of the case to plug in the adapter.

Simple to use, and excellent quality! The recording quality was excellent, even with multiple settings. I have used both the built-in mic and a wired mic, both with excellent results.

One thing to know: if you want to save as an mp3, you will have to pay a few dollars to upgrade the software, but it is worth it if you want to use it for other programs.

The soft case for the DS40 works well. The belt loop is affixed with velcro, but the workmanship seems solid, so I am going to have faith!! :) All the bells and whistles are easily accessible, except the power, which can be manipulated through the material quite easily. The magnetic closure works fine as long as the recorder is snugged in and the stereo recording attachment is removed.

Great case, great fit. If you take off the detachable microphone the flap of the case adjusts to allow an external mic cord to plug in through the top.

I like the magnetic closure. If it were a snap button you would be pushing on the recorder every time you closed it, that wouldn't be good. Velcro would get dirty and if you were recording and opened a velcro flap, you get that ripping sound on your recording (you might not want that). Very happy with the case.
