Similar in height to the 190MFV this aluminum equivalent provides the same outstanding performance at a slightly higher overall weight, coupled with the larger 701RC2 fluid head. The kit is comprised of the 701RC2 fluid head and the 190XV aluminum tripod. Small and lightweight, this fluid video head is capable of accommodating a payload of up to 8.8 lbs., and is ideal for set-ups such as a fully equipped 3 CCD mini DV camcorder or a spotting scope combined with a digital still or video camera for digiscoping purposes. It is equipped with a fixed 3.3 lb. counterbalance spring which combined with a camera plate attachment made of a touch-and-go/sliding plate which can shift from +15mm to -15mm from the "0" point to optimize the position of the counterbalance spring and deliver a wide range of balancing positions. Newly redesigned, the 190XV is lighter in weight and slightly more compact for a outstanding performance. The ergonomics of the leg angle release mechanism and the quick action leg locks themselves have also been greatly improved.

The 190X tripod series builds on the success of the 3001 series, but has been redesigned to offer better ergonomics and improved function. The 190XV is distinguished by its revamped aluminum frame, which is lighter than previous incarnations and slightly more compact. As a result, it's more convenient to bring this tripod along on shoots without weighing yourself down. Plus, the ergonomics of the leg-angle release mechanism and the quick-action leg locks have also been greatly improved, making it a breeze to open, position, and close the tripod in just a few seconds. Best of all for cold-weather photographers, the 190XV includes leg warmers on two of the legs, so you can handle the tripod in extreme weather conditions. And should you need to balance the tripod on an uneven surface, you can set each of the legs to a different spread angle over the tripod's center of gravity--a must for nature shots on outdoor terrain. The tripod can reach a maximum working height of 57.5 inches and a minimum height of 3.1 inches using the low-angle adapter built into the center column. - Bogen Manfrotto 190XV with the Manfrotto
I did a lot of research before I settled on this tripod. I wanted a light-weight tripod that got low to the ground for my Canon 40D. This tripod is excellent--steady and easily adjusted. It is lightweight, green in color, and is constructed of aluminum. I purchased the Bogen Manfrotto 190XV with the Manfrotto 701RC2 Mini fluid head. What a combination! - Great combination for spotting scopes
I needed a light-weight tripod for a Nikon spotting scope and was unwilling to pay for carbon. This tripod is excellent--steady, light and easily adjusted. I also highly recommend the 701 head for perfect balance and fluid movement. The quick-release foot is a definite plus. Combined with the scope, it is easily transported. A mile in and out was easy.
