Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Do not use in humidity
This little product works pretty well in normal climate, but it totally malfunctions in humidity, dampness, or if it gets sweaty. The display totally locks up, until it dries out again and then, eventually, most of the numbers return. It does this even if the device was not subjected directly to water.

This is a nice accurate pedometer. It's only problem is that there is nothing protecting the buttons. If you wear it on your waistline and lean on something or sit just right it resets itself. I've had this pedometer for a few weeks now and it has only made it through one day without resetting itself at some point during the day.

This product was rated a best buy by Consumer Reports. That's why I purchased it. However, it has one BIG flaw - the reset button is not protected by a cover and it was easily pushed by the slightest touch and I would lose track of whatever progress I had built up. If they re-design it to have a cover over the buttons, they will have the perfect product.

This is the second Freestyle that I have owned. My first served me well for many years. I have tried a number of other brands that were more stylish but not as accurate or compact. I like the new addition of the safety leash since I had made my own for my previous Freestyle. I did have a problem opening the clasp on the front cover and broke a fingernail in my attempt. That was fixed by shaving a tiny bit of the plastic from the clasp. Now it opens and closes perfectly.

This super little step counter proved very easy to set up, and it provides the information desired with virtually no effort. It is extremely easy to use, view and reset. The only downside is the safety catch is difficult to release, so I do not close it to the full stop position. With that one relatively minor exceptions I am well pleased with this product, and would definitely purchase it again.
