When working in Microsoft Office applications Professional enables you to review all changes made in your original document, manage changes across multiple reviewers, and audit who has made edits to your original documents. You can also convert any of these documents to a PDF on the fly with Professional's embedded PDF converter. In addition, Professional uses Workshare's award-winning Protect functionality to scour your documents for any information you don't want leaving your PC. Content it searches includes metadata, editorial comments, speaker notes, hidden columns and more. If it finds sensitive or prohibited data, Professional will prevent these documents from being sent - or it will give you the option of having the content automatically removed from the document. You can also convert to PDF when you hit the Send email button as added protection. Professional knows who has made edits to your documents and displays the edits in our easy-to-follow 3-pane format. It also creates an adjoining Text file that you can print, email and share with others in the collaboration process - even if they are not using Professional. And Professional also knows who is on your safe recipient list and allows you to control the types of data and content you can send inside and outside of your organization. - Zero customer support & software conflicts
You get zero real customer support with the basic purchase, even on installation problems. Avoid if you have any alternative at all.

I used DeltaView PE without any problems, and suddenly they stopped supporting it -- apparently you can't even buy a license renewal!

Workshare is a company that treats its customers with contempt.

- Workshare Pro: difficult to use and expensive
I started using Workshare Pro last year because the other attorneys working on a transaction were using it and I could not consistently open their redlines without it. I am writing this review because Workshare sent me an email with a link to this site specifically asking for reviews.

I have always found the MS WORD compare function to be adequate for my purposes and never had a problem with clients or lawyers being able to open the redlines.

When I used Workshare (formerly Deltaview) program within a IT contracts/proposal environment. I had to use Microsoft Word's very limited compare program to compare changes to contracts and proposals. The program is fast, clear and flexible and accelerates the document review process.
Workshare integrates with outlook and other office products to clean up document before you send them. The PDF-to-Word , Word-to-PDF tools are another great feature.

A lawyer introduced me to Workshare Professional. Select an original document, a modified document, and punch the OK button. Deleted text appears in red, added text in blue, and repositioned words in green. Easy use in broad variety of applications has sold me on three repeat license renewals. If you need to compare one MSWord document to another, and end up with an easy to review redlined document, Workshare 5 Professional works great. The redlining process with Workshare Professional is far easier to use than MSWord's track changes features.
