- Carbonite is no good if it will not read all of my drives
My hard drive is partitioned into two drives and carbonite will only read one. I called the toll free # and they said I had to talk to tech line. The tech line required a subscription. So I went online to chat with a tech. He said to reload the program which did no good. They have seriously wasted my time. It may be the best in the world for a standard set up, but they have no interest in customer service. I recommend this to no one with a partitioned hard drive.

AFter the 3rd day, I noticed the program was constantly accessing my floppy "a" drive (I guess looking for something to back up). I never use the "a" drive and emailed customer service asking how to resolve this. They never responded.

About 3 weeks later, it got so annoying, I emailed them and asked to cancel the account. I got an auto response saying they are have so many new people signing up, they can't respond to my request for at least 3 days.

Pray you never have to actually restore your data because it is impossible. I've been on hold for a total of 6 hours in 3 separate phone calls. When I finally got through, they had no clue how to help me. While on hold for my 6 precious hours, I listened to a recording that informed me I could pay for some kind of special customer support for $20. Are you kidding me?? Please read all the negative comments left by others about this product. Most of the positive ones come from the Carbonite company itself!

Pros:I did find the program easy to install, and it took several days to upload 27GB of info. I was able to restore a file without a problem.

Cons:My biggest problem is that it won't backup files from an external or network drive. I store all of my business documents locally but my digital pictures, music and videos are too large to store ... Read More

I should have known by all of the cartoons this company uses on their marketing materials and website that this is not a company that can be trusted or relied upon when the chips are down. Yes, the program backs up your files nicely in the background while you work on your computer. Yes, it's inexpensive.
