Whether you're running errands or planning a cross-country road trip, Streets and Trips 2007 offers customizable maps and information on more than 1.2 million points of interest (POIs), such as restaurants, ATMs, museums, campgrounds and more. Online or off, Streets and Trips 2007 provides updated maps that give you accurate, detailed door to door directions and puts 5.9 million miles of routable roads and highways throughout the US and Canada at your fingertips. While you're driving, verbal turn-by-turn directions let you concentrate on the road while the software guides you. Customizable trip planning features allow you to plan multiple stops, find nearby places to visit, calculate drive time, and more.

Taking advantage of the enhanced trip planning software is easy. To create a route and generate directions, you simply type in the starting and ending locations and click on "Get Directions." It's that simple. Your trips can include multiple segments, and you can instruct the software to customize your route by telling it what types of roads you want to travel, how much gas your car has, and the general area where you want to stop to gas up. To find a certain POI, such as a restaurant or gas station, you simply select from 35 POI types to display on the map. Your results are displayed in a directory-tree listing. When you click on a POI, a balloon box pops up on the map with detailed information, including an address and phone number, and if you right-click on the POI icon, you can add it to your route list. Personalize your maps with drawings, notes, and pushpins to mark important information. You can also import your contacts directly from Microsoft Office Outlook and Microsoft Office Excel.

- Cons outweight benfits
I have other software, and if I am sticking to highways, I generally prefer Streets. For more varied trips, it is no longer as reliable as it once was. The biggest problem is that Microsoft will not update its maps. There are many errors on it and because of construction of new highways, many roads are missing.

The software lets you give feedback and report errors, but Microsoft does not correct the reported errors. I guess the feature is to make you feel good about something. ... Read More

Microsoft Streets and Trips 2007 is rated higher than the newer version, so I grabbed it. It arrived in the original box with instructions and all. Everything in "like new " condition. I have not been able to play with it yet, but I am sure it will perform fine. I had a much older version and wanted this one for it's GPS loading feature and working road condition updates.

I've used and upgraded this product for the past few years. I guess you can never be satisfied with the currency of any product like this, but this product is easy to use and i've grown used to it. It works fine for me. I like how you can easily change the route it provides when it goes stupid.

i was expecting more from this product. It takes a very long time to download. The directions were not very accurate, tried to use it in Las Vegas, i thought since it is the 2007 version it would be kind of up dated,it was not!. Some streets were missing!. I had to use mapquest to get directions to those locations. a lot of times it made me take back roads when there were shorter ways to get to my location. - I liked the 2004 version much better
I was so pleased with streets and trips 2004 that when the 2007 version came out I obtained that one also. I shouldn't have. I don't like the newer version and in fact after installing it, I uninstalled it and put my older 2004 version back on my computer. I may just move to another trip and map software when I update next time. I don't recommend the 2007 version.
