- Great humidifier!
I like this purifier much more than I thought I would! It's quiet and it easily humidifies our 1400 sq ft condo. I fill it up once or twice a day and use the protec cartridge as instructed. This is definitely a cost effective solution with minimal upkeep when using the protec filters and cartidges.

- Gets the job done
I live in an "R2000" house -- a high-efficiency house with an air/heat exchange unit that exchanges the air in the house continuously with outside (low relative humidity) air.

When I purchased this unit, the relative humidity in my 2000-square-foot house was ca. 30%. Within a few hours, the hygrometre gave a reading of just over 40%. For a couple of days, I refilled both tanks twice a day, until it reached ca. 45%-50% depending on where in the house I placed the hygrometre. But after that, I have filled both tanks once a day, and run the unit at 45% at the top fan speed during the day and the low fan speed from when I "turn in" till I rise in the morning.

So far, I haven't run into mold problems, nor do I find filling the tanks to be difficult. As long as I don't over-tighten, the lids come off reasonably easily. All the parts easily fit on the base.

- better than I thought from reviews
After serious online shopping, I reluctantly selected this unit. I read some very negative reviews and expected a marginal quality unit at best. After 1 week my comments include:
1) no problem filling - tanks sit upside down resting on the edge of the sink -- I don't have to hold them while filling.
2) no problem carrying - the handle will support a full tank, but I carry with a hand supporting the bottom, as recommended.
3) never had a problem with tanks not emptying. The unit runs until both tanks are empty -- perhaps this has been fixed
4) definitely not whisper quiet -- at any speed, the unit has a rather annoying hum coming from the motor. It would be unacceptable in the bedroom, in the family room with the pellet stove going, it is unnoticed. Not sure if this is normal or not -- but not a problem for my use.
5) Didn't have a problem in seating the tanks - there are three main parts - tank 1, tank 2, motor/fan housing that fit on the bottom housing. Not difficult ... Read More

- No more sinus infections, but not perfect
This humidifier was recommended by an allergist. It is the reason I no longer suffer from sinus infections. You want a cool mist humidifier to keep your nasal passages moist, so they don't become dry and cracked.
Everything that other people have mentioned are true - you go through filters too quickly and it requires maintenance. Kind of a pain, but for me, it is well worth it. We looked at those expensive "air washers" because they don't need filters, but they are not recommended by the allergist. We sleep better and you can feel the difference in the air. At times the noise bothers me, but if you keep it on low, it is not that bad. If you like white noise while you sleep, it is great. We also seem to have less problems when we keep it running all the time.

- Does a good job
Unit does a good job adding moisture in the air. I have a two story house and I use it downstairs on low and it the moisture level is good around the unit, which is in the kitchen family room area, I also use our ceiling fan in reverse to circulate. I set it on low since the medium and high settting is way too loud for me. I would prefer to run on medium, but I hate the noise and its in a large room. It would be nice if the water container fill on top to utilize the rollers. I recommend rotating the wick to extend the life and to have a more consistant output. I don't like wick units, but I hated my expensive ultrasonic that left a nasty residue everywhere.
