All-in-one faxers 'only' make sense for a tiny-use home-office like mine. And in which case this is the one to get: cheap-as-they-come, but durable enough, and a small footprint.
This HP 5610 currently costs about $100. For serious usage, do not spend $200 or more on a 'quality' all-in-one. You can get separate printer and fax units for the same total cost ... perhaps that use the same cartridges ... and that perform better as specialized units do ... and that do not all need to be ... ASIN:B000B63RIU HP Officejet 5610 All-in-One Printer/Fax/Scanner/Copier (Q7311A#ABA)]] I received my printer in record time. It arrived in only 2 days. It was easy to install and works fine. The only thing that concerns me is the noise. I haven't used the fax function yet but the copy, scan and print work well.

This is the second HP all-in-one I've had. I've been happy with both of them, right up to the time the warranty runs out. About a week after it does, both of them quit working, with no hope of getting fixed. On this machine, the carriage jams every time I print a page. HP gives you a nice long instruction on how to clear the jam - easy enough, but it does it after EVERY PAGE, and cancels the print once it's cleared. Therefore, I can never print more than one page at a time.

I have had this printer for quite a long time now (almost a year).
I must say that I am very impressed with this printer!
It was very easy to install ( Using windows vista home premium OS) and printing was hassle free. The printing speed is fairly decent and the quality is also really really good ! (especially the color print quality).
I also used it to send and receive fax and it was a piece of cake. Simply plug in the phone cord and dial the number like you do on fax ... Read More

It was only $100. I don't expect high-end functionality. But I was impressed. Setup was easy. Even the software installed on WinXP the first time and functioned like the manual says it should. The OCR function of the scanning software was especially cool.
The only real knock might be the paper tray. It seems kind of clunky sticking out the side, but I've learned to ignore it. The noise does not bother me, nor does the lag time to do certain things. Very happy.
