Amazon.com Product Review:
The Clover CM626 B/W Ultra Miniature Camera with Cone-type Pinhole Lens is the fast, simple and extremely discreet CCTV video surveillance solution you've been looking for. This unit provides high-quality images at high-resolutions in a compact camera that is VCR recordable, to allow users to remotely monitor warehouses, construction sites, parking lots, office buildings and more. Easy to install, the CM626 is designed for primarily indoor use, but can be used in well-protected outdoor environments.

This camera utilizes a 0.33-inch black-and-white CCD (charge-coupled device) sensor, with a resolution of 512-by-492 pixels or 380 TVL (TV lines). The CM626 includes a 3.6mm lens, and has a usable minimum illumination down to 0.1 Lux. The unit's exposure times range from 1/60 to 1/100,000 of a second, ensuring a high picture quality. This camera can provide a frame rate of up to 30 frames-per-second (frames per second), equivalent to a 460-NTSC analog video. Powered via a 12-volt external DC power supply (included), the CM626 camera can operate in temperatures from -10 to 50-degrees Celsius.

Technical Features:
  • Sensitivity: down to 0.1 Lux
  • Frame rate: up to 30 frames per second
  • Resolution: up to 512 by 492 pixels or 380 TVL
  • Operating temperature: -10 to 50 degrees Celsius
  • Dimensions: approximately 2.5 x 3 x 2.5 centimeters (W x D x H)
Overall, the Clover CM626 provides you with a reliable, easy-to-use and unobtrusive camera that can complement most any monitoring system. Quick and easy to install, this incredibly compact camera comes completely assembled and ready to use, and includes plug-and-play connections to ensure you get up and running as quickly as possible, and has a low power consumption to minimize the drain on your network. Users should note, however, that the CCD sensor may become permanently damaged if exposed to long hours of direct sunlight or halogen light.

About Surveillance Camera Technical Features
Lux rating is the measurement used to indicate how sensitive a camera is to light, and stands for the level of light reflected off a piece of paper by a candle from one meter away. Thus a sensitivity of three Lux would mean a camera could generate an acceptable picture of a piece-of-paper-sized object that was illuminated by the equivalent of three candles from one meter away. The lower the Lux level, the better the camera's ability to work in low-light conditions. The camera's resolution should be greater than or equal to the resolution supported by the system's recorder or monitor. The S/N, or signal to noise ratio, is an important measure of a camera's quality. A poor camera, low-light conditions or poor wiring causes "noise" which consumes processing power and disk space. A camera with a wide dynamic range is ideal, especially for recording areas in which both indoor and outdoor light are present. CCD (charge-coupled device) sensors provide high-quality images that are less susceptible to noise. CMOS (complimentary metal-oxide semiconductor) sensors offer less image quality, but are usually more cost-effective and energy efficient.

Average Rating: out of 5 stars

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Very good camera
I'm using 2 of these and ordering a 3rd now. The camera gives very good image, it's prety sensitive in low-light. Because it's a B/W model, there is much less noise than on color cameras.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - does its job but in the heat
this item does exactly what its supposed to do. the picture is clear but the visibility at night or in the dark is not that impressing. but that is okay considering you get what you pay for. the wires connected to the item are extremely short and are a pain to maneuver when placing the camera in a small spot. overall this camera produces a quality black and white visual but it gets extremely hot when left plugged in over time. this camera is worth the $40 bucks i paid for it...
