A two-line corded/cordless phone system from AT&T, the E2562 is an ideal model for today's busy household or small office. With an all-digital answering system and multi-user expandability eight cordless handsets (one included), the phone offers both flexibility and convenience. By utilizing the 2.4 GHz band and digital frequency-hopping spread spectrum technology, the E2562 offers clearer reception and less interference than traditional 900 MHz phones.

With just one phone jack, the system supports
up to eight extensions throughout your home.

The digital answering machine provides up to 25 minutes of recording time, while a remote message check feature lets you keep track of messages even when you are away from home. Caller ID/call waiting compatible, the E2562 has a 50-number caller ID memory, while a 50-number phone directory provides an easy way to keep track of important phone numbers.

The base unit has a data port which can be used to hook up external devices such as a fax machine. A speakerphone on both the base and handset combine with headset compatibility (also on both the base and handset) to provide hands-free communication options. Handset and ringer volume controls are provided, while an illuminated keypad makes dialing easy, even in dark environments. An intercom function lets you talk between handset locations, while up to seven-way conferencing allows you to communicate with multiple parties at the same time. The E2562 also comes backed with a one-year warranty.

The unit cuts off callers mid-sentence. No reason known, although it is usually the same caller which makes it even more annoying.

I've had this phone for 3 years. I purchased it for about $150. It had all the features I was looking for and has worked very well for me. I have a small office with just one employee. While we couldn't transfer calls as some reviewers criticized, you can put a call on hold, and the other person can then pick up the call. The only thing I didn't like was the sound on the cordless set seemed on the loud side. But my employee liked that one better, so it worked out the best for all of us. Never ... Read More

I purchased this phone set 2 months ago, despite varying opinions about its performance, and I'm very glad I did.

- Pretty good phone for my home office
I work form a home office and have both my home line and my office line though this phone. It is true that the phone does not stay on the last line used, if you want to use line 2 you must first choose the 'L2' button. It is also true that the battery that came with my remote handset would not hold a charge and require constant charging. I purchased two new batteries (one for the handset and one for the base unit) and thess new batteries hold a charge much longer and the battery in the base unit keeps the phone ... Read More
