- Guess you have to be good at Architecture
I, for the most part, am not good in architecture. When I was in college, I majored in theatre and had to take some classes that involved technical stuff such as Stage Craft and Lighting. This was where I learned how to use tools and build scenery. It was so fantastic that I ended up working in the theater shop for two and a half years.

not for the professional but gets the job done for the most part.

- Suits my needs, but not extraordinary
I'm an engineer and work with professional CAD software at work all the time. This is slightly easier to use in some regards (because it's made for users without experience), but also lacks some of the more useful features of my work CAD package. But I guess that is to be expected from a commercially available, $75 software, compared with a $2000 package with customizations and add-ins. Overall though, it suits my needs in planning for small projects.

I bought this product after reading the other on-line reviews saying how easy it was to use. I am someone who works with computers daily and this was anything but easy! It was hard to understand and getting someone from their help desk to assist was a joke! I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone unless you're a professional architect/ computer genius!

- A good value for the average person
I feel Home Designer Suite 6 is a good value for the price. It obviously is not a full blown pro program, which I think many people expect, however it is a great tool for an ordinary person to do preliminary plans for new construction or remodeling. Those plans can then be provided to a architect or builder as a foundation for final planning. It is quite easy to learn the basics by merely following the tutorials in the manual, or on the provided CD.
