These super-light, ear-bud headphones weigh a mere five grams (.18 ounces.) They are the perfect headphone for those who relish lightweight, quality headphones. The MDR-ED21LP's deliver a quality sound, even with their small size. The groove design and Bass Booster earpiece shape allows for a better fit; additionally, this system creates more bass response than conventional earpiece designs. The headphones use sixteen millimeter drive units for a deep bass and clear treble. Sony also uses neodymium magnets which provide more energy per ounce than other conventional magnets. The PET diaphragm gives the headphones a high rigidity for minimum distortion. Finally, Sony's Acoustic Twin Turbo circuit achieves high sonic output by utilizying sound chamber and duct technology. The cord is one meter long (3.3 feet) for ample range of movement. The housing is a modern, hi-tech, black and silver metallic finish. - Quality Purchase!
this is an earphone with great value. great sound quality and comfortable, although they are not the type that you want to hear during running (i believe they won't stay in that well). to address the concern of the cord being too short, I believe if you are average height, it will not be a major issue. The only complain is the earphones don't block out noise that well.

While, a decent price, it quickly become evident upon use, the headphones are not of the greatest caliber. The sound is not the best. And with my ears, the buds do not stay in my ear very well. The cord is a bit short and stiff. I was not happy with the Sony design in this instance. Typically I like their designs.

I've bought a few different set of headphones lately for different purposes... one set to keep in the laptop bag, one for listening to MP3 from my phone via bluetooth, a set for my computers at home and at work. Nothing too serious, but I have been shopping for what i consider to be the best around this price range.

These earbuds are absolutely fantastic. I bought them to replace my original iPod earbuds. The Sony set fits slightly better, having a smaller rounded "bud" with a small rectangle on each. When worn properly, with the little rectangle pointed toward the back of your head, these fit nicely into just about any size ear.

Great sound. I've tried a lot of different pairs of headphones and like the sound you get from these better than anything else in the price range. They do fit differently in your ears than other headphones but you get used to it pretty quickly.
