The Canon imageCLASS D660 digital copier/printer is intended for businesses that need a robust copier with maintenance-free performance. The copier features Canon's exclusive Single Cartridge System, which contains the drum, development unit and toner in one easily replaceable cartridge. The imageCLASS D660's L50 cartridge, which ships with the product, yields approximately 5, 000 black-and-white copies at 5% density. A 30-sheet automatic document feeder can accept originals up to legal size and reproduce letter-size documents at 13 copies-per-minute (cpm) and legal-size documents at 10 cpm. Digital technology, through the touch of a single button, facilitates collating of multi-page documents.The imageCLASS D660 features Canon's Advanced Printing Technology for high-quality laser prints with a resolution of 600 x 600 dpi. For added flexibility and user convenience, the imageCLASS D660 supports both parallel and USB interfaces. The imageCLASS D660 offers fast, efficient paper handling through a 500-sheet front-loading paper cassette and a 100-sheet multi-purpose tray, which accepts a variety of media, including bond, plain and colored paper, transparencies, labels and envelopes, for fast, no-worry operation.

- Dependable and economical printer/copier
I bought this new several years ago for our small business and it is a workhorse. It runs great and you can get refilled cartridges which make it very economical to run. Jamming as in the other reviews has never been a problem. I did upgrade to Vista and was not able to use it, but believe that the new service pack for Vista will resolve this issue as I am told.The drum is in the cartridge so when it is replaced it is also new. Never had a problem with this machine in over 4 years.

- Constant jamming!
I bought this copier a couple of years ago and have had repeated electronic error codes that require service and frequent paper jamming. When I finally convinced Canon to replace the product, they replaced it with a re-furbished D-880. I have experienced the exact same paper jamming problems and a few service codes. I run a businnes and have owned several copiers (Canon, xerox, and others). I have never experienced the degree of paper problems that I have with these two machines. One of my most ... Read More

Ipurchased this copier March 2003, and have benn frustrated by the paper jamming consistently in the machine. I have been using Xerox 20 Lb paper and cannot print more than 50 copies without the machine jamming.I would not suggest this product for anyone that wanrs a reliable copier. It is extremelely frustating to keep puuling out the jammed pages and restart again.I print only 200 to 300 copies a month. The white pages I use are Georgia-Pacific Multi System Paper.

I reasearch things for a living and I have to tell you, the information available for these multifunctions is weak and misleading. So, I thought after my purchase I would chime in.

At first glance, the HP 3300/3330 series seems to give you the most bang for your buck -- (1200x1200 dpi vs. the Canon 600x600), sort of good looking, includes a scanner, etc... But it wasn't intil I got my hands on them and compared them side by side that a clear winner was revealed.

Make sure you have USB 2.0 interface; the "old" 1.4 from six months ago can't handle it. Setup is a breeze, even for XP-os (the printed instructions are so good that they tell you the error message Windows will give you in advance, and give you the simple cure in the next sentence!)
