Comprehensive Spanish (L.A.) III includes 30 additional lessons (16 hrs.), plus Readings, which build upon the language skills acquired in Levels I and II. Increased spoken and reading language ability.

Level III will increase your vocabulary and grammatical structures and triple your spoken proficiency. Upon completion of a level III, you will be able to:

* participate in most informal and some formal discussions on practical, social, and some semi-professional topics,

* form longer sentences while maintaining the target language syntax,

* be understood even by native speakers unused to dealing with foreigners,

* handle increasingly difficult grammatical structures,

* enjoy fluent conversations with a variety of strangers,

* have a near-native accent, and the subtleties of the language will be apparent in your speech,

* read at the same level at which you speak.

Note: In order for the Pimsleur Method to work correctly, you must first complete the Level I + II language programs before proceeding to the Level III language program.

I have completed Pimsleur's Spanish 2 and found it to be very helpful in teaching me conversation useage! I have now begun Spanish 3 and find it to be equally valuable! I find it best do listen to the lesson every day until I have mastered about 80% just as the instructions suggest. It takes me about a week. The chief advantage for me in using the Pimsleur method is that I gain confidence in my ability to converse in Spanish and not worry when I make mistakes.

Limited experience with the much touted FSI material has not impressed me as much as some posters profess to be. My troubles with FSI, however, are beyond the scope of a post on Pimselur.

Most critiques of Pimsleur concern the limited range of material,bBut Pimsleur is, I think, the best METHOD of teaching language: contextual REPITITON. This is the child's way of learning language indeed.

Here's a very honest review. I've been through all 4 levels of the Pimsleur Spanish Language programs (I, II, III, Plus). It took me about 18 months to get through it all with my commute to work. I went through each lesson multiple times, and I can now go back through the CD's and get probably 95% of it correct. It was an enjoyable introduction to the language, and an efficient use of my time (what else am I going to do in my car?). This course is a direct continuation of the first two Pimsleur Spanish courses, and has the usual helpful repetition, variation, and gradual increase in vocabulary and grammar that make the Pimsleur system so effective.
